Default "You Get What You Are"

Since I just found this site, I have a lot of catching up to do! I've been going through article after article, and have certainly found myself blessed.

I just wanted to comment on a couple of things from Sis. Rebekah's article, "You Get What You Are".

First things first, this was an excellent article.

"The ministry was bold (speaking of WYR), but Satan is too, as he uses every tactic to try to destroy the effects of the Word of the Hour".
Amen, and amen. I find that it's when you are growing closer to the Lord, that Satan strikes the hardest. Satan doesn't mind that we go to church...it's the relationship we have with Christ that he hates. You can be certain, as you strive to draw near to God...he'll strive to trip you along the way. We just have to keep perservering, and stay in the Word and prayer.

A little later in the article, Sister Rebekah touched on true friendship.
I think there is a lack of "confessing your faults one to another". I personally believe there's a lot of accountability to be had when you can find one true friend, and open yourself up to them. In my opinion, one of the biggest reasons that Christians (young and old) stray today is because of a lack of accountability (in all areas of life). I could add a couple more things here, but I'm sure you all of read the article.

We had a guest minister last night (can't for the life of me remember the brother's name)...he made the comment, "you better pray about who your friends are". I found that quite staggering, actually. (I know this has nothing to do with the article...sorry) His statement is accurate, though. When you are surrounded with friends who are wishy-washy or unbelievers, it will generally take a toll on your own spiritual life.

Some good advice in there And yeah, your friends definately affect how you live... you may think you will pull your bad friends up, and you may a bit... but chances are they could also pull you down a bit.

lol that's funny ... had not seen it, seeing it now - 2 songs on repeat for 2months! surely.. but well, if the brother has an amazing voice and he is singing in truth and in spirit, whatmore combination couldn't make a girl play, even one of his songs, on repeat for even three months! lol (j/k)

i have a friend in Benin, brother Will is his name. He is a musician too, he sent me some great music and I've been listening to that music almost everyday, they are about nine songs amongst that collection that a certain bro with a great voice, is singing with such conviction -these are the ones I listen to daily- I however, have not set eyes on that brother, neither do I know his name, or maybe its my friend Will! will have to check with him. lol
