hey girls, I haven't been on in a long time(I was worry I might get deleted out) But I'm here. I think this might be my first thread i started. anyway you guys remember my daughter, Well Zipporah is 1 years old now and she loves hair. when i'm holding her she will suck her thumb and hold on to the hair on the back of my neck. when i'm not holding ehr some times she holds and pulls her own hair. she has gotten to the point where she is developign a bald spot on the side of her head, remember she is only a baby so i can't explain anything to her. I honestly do not know what to do. any suggestions?

It sounds like one of those things that she will eventually grow out of. A little boy in my church used to always have to have one of his mother's hairs to play with. I was amazed she kept a full head of hair.

I'll try to remember to ask some of the sisters at church for ideas for you. (Since they have a lot more experience than I do. *winks*)

I have a niece she used do that to.

i would suggest taking her to the doctors.

I just realized it is a problem so i'm looking into it. my daughter uses hair as a security blanket, when she was a little younger I could put my ponytail in her lap in the car and it would calm her down. I hope she does grow ou† of it

the article I just read said that she should grow out of it and the only thing I should worry about is if she eats her hair, she could develop a hair ball that would need removed by surgery. I should watch her more closesly and see if she is eating it. they say she does it to sooth her self, what is soothing about pain?

I'm sure that's not Zipporah's problem, I guess I was the unregistered who posted, I must have gotten signed out with out knowing it. She is just pulling out the hair on her right side of her head while she her thumb. It will grow back out once she quits.
