Reputation question...Confused!

What's the difference between your reputation points and those green box thingys? Or is there no connection at all? Thanks for the help.

Your Rep power is how many reputation points you will give to others if you rate a post favorably (they loose half that amount if you give a negative). You get 1 green box to start, then 1 green box for every 100 reputation points you have. Bro. Trevor now has a light green box as his 6th box... so you may start need more than 100 per box after 500.

1st box = 1 - 99
2nd box = 100 - 199
3rd box = 200 - 299
4th box = 300 - 399
5th box = 400 - 499
6th box = 500 - 599

(I have 6 boxes because I'm in the 500s...)

Your little title thing that you see as you hover over your boxes changes every 50 until you become "just really nice" then it changes every hundred or so...until finally it changes REALLY infrequently...

Because I see no connection between that and the number of boxes some people have.

Power is determined by post count, reputation, and longevity.

You receive power points for the following:
Every 500 posts.
Every 100 rep points.
Every 30 days you've been a member.However, you have no power until you make your first fifty posts. Only then do your votes weigh in.

I think it does change at 500, cause that's where mine changed was in that vicinity. I hated the title of Addict too. :)
