Not as if we really want to be resurrecting a BUNCH of old threads, but at times, people want to refer back to things already discussed so they don't need to be rehashed.
So you start browsing through the forums, but you can't find it? WHAT DO YOU DO???
Well, there are a couple of ways to find it, but first, I will start by showing you, step by step, how to view older threads so that you can browse through them and find them.
CAVEAT: Please be discerning...sometimes it's best to let old dog...err.. threads lie.
Ok, having signed off on the caveat...let's begin!
1) Click "user cp" (you'll find this in the upperish left hand corner)
2) Click "Edit Options" (that's on the left...)
3) Scroll down to the 3rd section which is "Thread Display Options"
4) The last option there is "Default Thread Age Cut Off" and it is probably set on "Use Forum Default" This can be changed by clicking the little arrow to the right causing the select box to "drop down".
There are a number of options there for you to choose. The forum default for most sections is 1 month I'm told (thx Hotshot) so obviously selecting 2 weeks will not help you find old threads, but will cut down on clutter if you're a neat freak!
IF you click "view all threads" you obviously will be able to see every thread that was ever here.
NOW that you know how to do that... this will enable you to browse through any of the sections and see everything.
BUT WAIT!!! What if you know it's only in one particular group... say "Girl Talk" (as example)
So go ahead, click on the "girl talk" section.
NOW...scroll all the way down to the bottom. Under the "New Thread" button, you will see a small section called "Display Options"
You'll see various ways of sorting things, as well as..."FROM THE" which will have something there like "last month" or "beginning"
You can select more or less depending on your tastes at that particular juncture. Obviously to view older, select a longer time frame.
THERE!! We're DONE! Now you know how to find older threads by searching through all of them.
BUT WAIT!! That's kinda tedious isn't it??
