Well, that's a pretty open ended question there!
Why does he care?
Because He made you... that should be a simple enough answer I'm guessing. But I'll try to explain it in a concise but thorough manner.
Before God created anything... there was nothing but Him right? Makes sense... so technically, God wasn't God, as in, He wasn't an object of worship. There was nothing there to worship Him.
But God had attributes, He wanted to be a father, He wanted to be a Healer, He wanted to be a Savior, He wanted to Love. (as we all know, God is Love!) How do we know this? Well, He's the same Yesterday, Today and Forever. (Heb 13:8) If He's like that now, then before the creation of the World, He had to be the same way. He just had no way of expressing Himself...there was nothing else to express to.
(this kinda bends a persons mind...but it's because God is infinite, and we're finite...trying to comprehend infinite...)
So God created angels. Then He became God (as in, object of worship). He had something to worship Him. But Angels weren't created with a free choice, Angels were created for specific purposes. So while one could say, Angels love God, it's only because they were created to do that.
We were created next... God wanted someone to CHOOSE Him. For instance, which do you think you would rather have, an arranged marriage where your parents decide the girl you're going to marry when you're 10? or would you rather have a girl that you fall in love with, and she, though she could have many other guys because she's unmatched in beauty and character, decides to marry you. Which one do you think will just enthrall your heart with love? Which one are you bound to be happier with? The one that loved you because she was TOLD to? Or the one who loved you because she WANTS to?
I tell you, God wants to experience this kind of Love as well. He wants us to CHOOSE Him. He wants love, because He is love.
It's all about love my friend. All about love.
Why did the fall happen?? So God could love us more. How much more expressive is His love to us when he grabs us out of sin and loves us anyway? How much more expressive is our love to Him, when we deny the supposed "tinsel and glamour" of this world to seek after Him?
God cares...because that's the way He is.... He is love.
I CORINTHIANS 13:4 - 8
4 ¶ Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8a ¶ Charity never faileth:
All those things describe God....because He is love.
He believes in you... Hopes you will choose Him and serve Him, and endures it when you fall.
What can God do but care?? He is Love.

Well, that's a pretty open ended question there!
Why does he care?
Because He made you... that should be a simple enough answer I'm guessing.well... maybe to God that's obvious; maybe to everyone around here that's obvious... but to me that's a bit... I mean, if I try to make something, and it just won't do what I'd want it to, I wouldn't care one bit and throw it away - especially if it totally keeps going wrongBut I'll try to explain it in a concise but thorough manner.that's already getting better; I do recognize this line of reasoning; still... my reasoning may say yes to that, my heart doesn't respond too well

II PETER 3:9
9 ¶ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Tis true what you are saying... God gave us a law, and to transgress that law means death. Yes, their will be good plants and weeds in the field. The weeds will be bound up and burned...but the good plants will be gathered into the barn.
Like a farmer, God wont even really be thinking about the weeds, he'll be thinking about the good plants in His barn.
But again, we're mixing the infinite with the finite... we don't know who is who, but God does.
We are predestinated by the FOREKNOWLEDGE of God. Because God knew if we would love Him or not. He's not looking at our mistakes... He's looking to see if we love Him or not.
I guess this is what you are having a hard time with...what the devil is battling you with, is recieving the love of God. Before you can love Him, you have to recieve Him. For HE is love, and to have love, you must have Him!
Don't worry about mistakes... don't worry about failures... don't worry about sin. That's not what it's about yet in your life. What it's about right now is... will you recieve His love for you? He loves you regardless of mistakes and failures. He loved the Romans spitting in His face, He loved the Pharisees that rejected Him. What awesome Love He has for us...
Will you recieve that... or do you think His love isn't powerful enough to look past your failures?

well stated Bro Trevor
There's some things I just take by faith - without trying to understand. The fact that God cares to begin with is one that I understand. As a man, when I make something with my own hands I am proud of it. As a father, I know I would care about my son or daughter.
What blows my mind is God's long-suffering. That despite my repeated and sometimes blatantly willful mistakes, He continues to reach out to me, to draw me, to accept me. Heh, if I were a father with a son like I am to God, I probably would have put the kid up for adoption a long time ago.
But as humans we might be able to explain the love of God, but I don't think we can ever truly grasp it. That's the awe of it all.

As a man, when I make something with my own hands I am proud of it.there's the difference maybe (most of the time I feel like it's just *insufficient* what I make; or it isn't really, but I feel like that anyway)

that's funny; that stuff never really attracted me; or if it did once, it was for a really short time (so short, and so long ago, I can't remember no matter how hard I try)

I would have put me up for adoption years ago!

somehow, God always chooses to stay in believe, believing all the great things, all that He believes about you and about the way He can use you as you let Him - He usually doesn't respond in pain about now, today; now that's... :yay::angel: :worthy:
ah, we should get that too, more and more believing the best about those next to us... :)

God is so abundantly rich in Love and Mercy, but God Thrists to give it away not keep it. He yearns to rain down that love and mercy on us. God bless you all.

I need to keep reading more of these threads, and staying in the Word, and maybe I wouldn't have so much of the struggles that I have with some of the things that I have...but I know that the closer to God that I get, the harder the trials get to refine the gold to an even purer state...

i know what you mean College girl. its so hard. of course the beginning is hard too...then when you get closer, it gets harder also. i am finding it hard in school to proclaim my stand. I am finding trials coming on so hard. That is why we should always hold each other upin prayer!
