View Full Version : Do I know God?

Hi I just signed in and I am a believer from Iceland, just wanted to say hi before I start with what is on my heart.
Do I know God? I thought I did but what does God say in his word.
1Jo 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
This is God word and I confess that I have broken his commandments, does that meen that I do not know God. I thought I did becouse He has shown me so much.
I look on this as a wake up call to try to get to know him becouse he says in 2 peter 1:5-8
Pe 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
2Pe 1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
2Pe 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
2Pe 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Here he talks about knowledge, I have faith and I beliveve I have virtue and I know I do not have perfect temperance, so maby I donīt have knowledge. The knowledge of God comes from faith and virtue, so I am going to try as hard as I can to keep every commandment becouse there lays the knowledge of God and from that comes temperance witch ultimatly leeds to godliness, as Godīs word says we should be as Jesus becouse he had all these things and did set us the excample.
Hope this brings a wakeup call for someone as it did for me please replay if you have any questions.
God Bless you.

Firstly hi and welcome to the forum. You should start a thread on Welcomes and Introductions so that we can interrogate...I mean get to know you better :) May God bless you.
To what you posted I would say:
Do I know God? -Yes.
As a human being of flesh and blood, can I keep all of His commandments - No.
Through His son Jesus Christ, can I keep all of His commandments? - Yes
As humans we try and try and offer up things that we do to God thinking that if we stop this or don't do that then we'll be fine in God's eyes. The law can never be met by man. The only man that met all the law was Christ and it wasn't even that He met the law - He fulfilled all of it. It is by grace through faith in Christ Jesus that we are saved. Trust in the mercy of God. If you are a child of God, then He will reveal Himself to You. He cannot do otherwise. If He is revealing Himself to you through the Holy Spirit then you cannot not know God (I hope that makes sense). That is my own personal testimony of whether I know God or not. Thank God for the Bible and for the prophet who came to restore the Word back. I've just finished reading Everlasting Life and How To Receive It and Bro Branham was talking about being a son and daughter of God. How could God show you that you are His own and then leave you in doubt as to who He is? Romans 5,6,7 and 8 have been such a blessing to me - especially lately. And I pray they will be a blessing to You.
I hope that I have worded everything properly.
May God richly bless you.

Thanx I hope that I can share and resive more knowledge about God.
I know that sin is not reputed to me becouse I am a child of God but
I also believe that the Bride has to become one with the word to parttake in the 1st rapture when the Bride meets the Bridegroom. And that the Bride has to obey every word that is in the Bible even if it seems very hard. But as it was in the time of Noa when God destroyed all but 8 souls, so will it be at the coming of Jesus. So all I am saying is that the Bride has to be perfect before God, has to become one with the Word, with Jesus.
Well, in The Third Seal, Bro. Branham said . . . in The Third Seal, 1963, March of 1963 . . . in The Third Seal, Bro. Branham said, The Bride has never had a revival yet. And then he goes on to describe what it would take to wake her up. He said, Shes never had a revival yet. He said, Its going to take those Seven Unknown Thunders to wake her up.
Here Branham says that the Bride is sleeping, so we are sleeping for now and it will take those Seven Unknown Thunders to wake us up.
And I believe that we have to be looking for that now in these last days, becouse that is the only thing left to happen before the rapture. I believe.

Sig....your deailing with what Paul covers in the entire book of Romans. Basically we have two natures that battle every day. the one you feed the most wins. see the forums "music" section...
I liked how our pastor brought out that a woman having a living husband couldn't remarry - the Old Testement Law is the husband and it will never die - so how do we get married to Christ the WORD while we have a living husband?
wait for it...............
wait for it...............
wait for it...............
wait for it...............
wait for it...............
well, YOU HAVE TO DIE !!!!!! hehe.
there has to be a death in order for you/me the Bride (woman) to remarry.
God's perfect Law can't die, so we die and can marry Christ.

Knowledge...but knowledge of what? Of God's Word?
I'll take the other side of the coin for a moment.
Well said William Branham the prophet...
"To know Him is life. Not even to know His Word is life, but to know Him, the Person, is life. There's only one way to know Him; that's to be born again of the Spirit of God." ("An Exodus" - 1965)
Paul also said...
I CORINTHIANS 13:2
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
So I submit that knowledge is something we should have. But what is Godly knowledge? To be born again, to Know Jesus Christ....not just "Jesus Christ is the Word, I know the Word"...but to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ...and to recieve His Love...so that you might have love.
Without which... we are nothing...

No brother I am talking about the adding to our virtue knowledge as Godīs word talks about in 2 peter 1:5 It is probably hard to explain becouse I am drawing this text from á sermon that I heard.
But I am talking about the knowing God better. :)
Becouse his ways are so much higher than our ways and his thoughtīs higher than our thoughts.

If Bro Branham said that the seven thunders will wake up the Bride, don't you think that it will be telling her who she is, what is her purpose, what she needs to do.....then if that is the case then the seven thunders must be uttering somewhere.
The Bride will not hear from the seven thunders after the rapture she needs to be prepared for the rapture, When we look around us and see the condition of the world do you think we have much time here again, the iniquities of the gentiles is almost overflowing, its just a matter of the last one coming in now.
Just a thought

Don't think we got revivals. We haven't. Oh, they've got millions and millions and millions of church members, but not a revival nowhere. No, no.
The--the Bride hasn't had a revival yet. See? There's been no revival there, no manifestation of God to stir the Bride yet. See? We're looking for it. It will take those seven unknown thunders back there to wake her up again. He will send it. He promised it. Now, now, watch. Now, she was--she was dead.
A manifestation of God to help her to see who He is and whho She is

If this Dennis Cramer guy is right...then Bro Branham was not.
ABRAHAM'S.COVENANT.CONFIRMED_ LONG.BEACH.CA FRIDAY_ 61-0210
E-7 Now, that's just the way it is. There's been so many things to this American revival, that's happened, till it's become so common to you, until you don't realize what it really is. And them people who has never seen it or heard it, my, their--their hearts are just built and ready and gone. See? That's what it... It becomes common to us. And, brother, sister, that's why you hear me cutting it as hard as I can the remar--"The American revival is over." It ended about four years ago. So it's--it's over. And there's no more revival in America; we're only gleaning in the fields that's been already reaped and burnt over. You pick up a stalk once in a while, but very few. Now, we don't only find it here in Los Angeles or in Long Beach; we find it all over the nation, the same way, everywhere.
Now, I ask...how can we have "unprecedented worldwide miracles and healings" when America is part of the "worldwide" scope...and is doomed to never see a national revival?
I agree the Bride has yet to have her revival.
I'm just a little shocked at this Dennis Cramer thing... I mean.. it doesn't take much to say that there will be a bunch of great things happening in a space of 3 months.
But it takes a prophet of God to say that there will be a little finnish boy hit by a car...and he'll be brought back to life. It takes a prophet of God to tell you who you are and where you are from having never met you. It takes a prophet of GOd to say "I'll shoot a caribou, and his horns will be 42 inches, and before we get back to camp, I'll shoot a grizzly bear, and Oh, somebody in the camp will have a green checkered shirt." Show me that kind of detail coming to pass...you might just get my attention.
Now, I really am hoping that we just don't get into a big huge "thunders" discussion on these forums. However, PLEASE take into account the ENTIRE Word of God spoken to us via His 7th messenger/prophet William Branham.
He stated ALSO:
QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS.4_ JEFF.IN COD SUNDAY_ 64-0830E
1161-Q-395 395. Have the seven thunders which equals seven mysteries already been revealed? Were they revealed in the seven Seals, but are yet--but are yet not known to us as the thunders yet?
No, they were revealed in the seven Seals; that's what the thunders was about. They was to reveal... The seven thunders that had uttered their voices and no one could make out what it was... John knew what it was, but he was forbidden to write it. He said, "But the seventh angel, in the days of his sounding, the seven mysteries of the seven thunders would be revealed." And the seventh angel is a messenger of the seventh church age. See?
THE.UNVEILING.OF.GOD_ JEFF.IN V-9 N-1 SUNDAY_ 64-0614M
273 Everyone, they was always come to me, said, "Brother Branham, them seven thunders that the voice thundered, and he said 'Write it not (See?), but close it up,'" said, "that'll be seven thunders that will be revealed in the last days? See, seven thunders that'll tell us?" Now, don't that sound real good? See? But watch what you're talking about when you say that. He said, "See that you write it not." See? These seven thunders uttered their voices (See?), and He said, "Don't write that (See?), but It's to be sealed up in the Book until the last days."
THE.UNVEILING.OF.GOD_ JEFF.IN V-9 N-1 SUNDAY_ 64-0614M
274 Now, someone has been, many has been saying to me, and theologians said, "Brother Branham, if the Lord God..." Said, "If--if with your experience that the Lord has given you for His people," humbly saying this, said, "you'd be eligible to write a--a Bible yourself, your Word that God has manifested."
I said, "That might be true." See, he was trying to catch me. See? And I said, "But, you see, I couldn't do that."
He said, "Why couldn't? You have all the qualifications."
I said, "But, you look, one word cannot be added or taken away." See?
And he said, "Well then, them seven thunders (You see?)," said, "wouldn't them seven thunders blasting out, won't that be a revelation be give to some man?"
I said, "No, sir, it would be adding something to It or taking something from It." It's all revealed in there, and the seven seals opened up the revelation of what that was. See?
He's still in the Word. You see, you can't get out of that Word. It won't leave the Word. And God's Spirit will never leave that Word. It'll stay right with the Word, blinding some and open the eyes of others. It'll always do that.
Now if you can add that...to your previously posted quote...we might start getting some where.
The whole Word brethren... I don't see another messenger coming to show us something. No where do I see an 8th messenger prophesied to come.
In the days of the voice of the 7th angel, when he shall begin to sound...the mysteries of God should be FINISHED!
Do I know God? -Yes.
As a human being of flesh and blood, can I keep all of His commandments - No.
Through His son Jesus Christ, can I keep all of His commandments? - Yes
Amen Sista!
Ahem. My understanding of the Seven Thunders were that they were the equivalent of the Seven Seals for the Jews.
Gentiles: Seven Seals
Jews: Seven Thunders

Yes he said that and he really thought that he was going to but it was not for that time. It is for our time for the bride as I previously stated from the sermon of the 3 seal it is for the bride to get the rapturing faith.
Branham said that the Bride is sleeping and it will take them seven thunders to wake her up. And I believe that the Bride is to be one with God and do great miracles in the last days before the time of the Gentiles is over.

I am not talking about a 8th messanger and I know that the mysteries of God should be FINISHED.
Ephesian.Church.Age Jeff.IN 1960
As Daniel heard the seven thunders and forbidden; and Jhon heard the voices, and this Book was sealed,a on the back of the book was sealed with seven seals; but in the days of these seals to be opened, the mystery of God would be finished. In other word, God would be know to his church, not in three people, but as one person. The mystery of God would be revealed, and when that was completely revealed, then the seven mysteries would open to the church; because in there, the church would be living under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
Here Branham states what the mistery of God is, and after that then the seven mysteries would open to the church so the mistery of God is not the end because there is seven mysteries after that.
And Branham also said often that we are always thinking what God did, and what God is going to do, but not what he is doing, so we canīt think that God just stopped working in 1965 when Branham died.
I also know that there canīt be adding or taking away from the Word but itīs on the backside when the Book is finished so it has to be revealed, Branham was looking for it to preach it in 1965, but he never did, but he said that it was for the Bride in the last days. It donīt know excacly how it will be but i am looking for it, because it is for the Bride not the Jews.
The Trumpets are for the Jews.
God Bless you.

I am not trying to uppset no one but I am only trying to show you what I Believe God is doing in our times. If God stopped with Branham then why isnīt this finished, Branham really thought that God was coming in his time. But he didinīt so God must be doing something else today.
I know that Branham was the 7th and the last messenger for the last church age. But the messengers came with a message to restore the church for the end I am not saying that there will come another restorer. I am only saying that God must be doing something to day. And I really think that the Bride is going to resieve her revival very soon and Branham told that it was in those seven thunders.
Hope you do not look at this as an argument, but this are only my believes and I feel compelled by God to share them.
God Bless you and may you seek counsil and advise in him, because he alone can leed us the right way.

Siggi, God Bless you. I too believe that we should be looking at what God is doing today.
Truly God's bride is the final voice to the final age. But that voice will say the same thing the voices of the past have all said. It will not be any new thing.
I also look for revival...in my own life. I want to know HIM so much. So I just keep my eyes on Him.
Siggi, I disagree with you. You believe that God is going to use someone to reveal the Seven Thunders (implicitly assuming that the Thunders & the Seals are not equivalent) before Christ comes for His Bride. This is not the case. In the Bible, Christ came immediately after John. It was John's message and John's message only that prepared the way for Christ. Nobody came with a "missed part" of John's message. John's message completely prepared the people for the coming of Christ.
Likewise, Brother Branham's message completely prepares the Bride for the second coming of Christ. The only thing we need to do now is to catch a personal revelation of the Bible that has been completely opened to us by the 7th age messanger.
What you're saying I do not see in the Bible. Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He will do it the second time as he did it the first time.

Excellent post Joe! There is something going on now! The Bride is putting on her wedding garment. The thunders opened the Word to us, revealed all that had been lost thru the ages, Thru the vessel of Brother Branham. Brother Branham only stood there while HE came and spoke his love secrets to us. There are no more Mysteries they have been opened and the five fold ministry continue to break it down and feed it to us everyday, To those who have an ear to hear. Sister Lynn

The following quote answers the question of whether the Thunders are still to be revealed. According to Brother Branham, the Thunders were revealed in the Seals (still sounds like Seals = Thunders). All that is to be revealed to the Bride has been revealed.
With this I am closing this thread. If you have objections, read this thread (http://yqnews.org/forums/showthread.php?t=99) before voicing your objection.
