View Full Version : Greeting!
Hi everyone!
Well, this is my first post at here.... had to start it in some way, so decided to write here for a beginning. =)
So, I think, I should introduce myself...
(phuuhh... pressures.... :P)
I am a 18 year old your brother in Christ and I am living in a country Far Far Away (read Finland) and I've been christian since the age of 10 (or so, don't remember exactly my age, when I got baptized in the name of Lord Jesus Christ) and I do believe this Message, which God has sent through his Prophet and that it's a great blessing for the Bride, to prepare Her for the Rapture. Amen!
So, I hope, I'll get to know more Siblings in Christ and to feel the common Spirit of Brotherly Love at here!
May Our Lord bless and lead you all!
PS. Feel free to send an IM. Chances may be seen in my profile. =) :peep:

Welcome Brother!
Nice to meet you. You need to tell us more about Finland. Friends (work collegue... but my little brother is friends with their son, and I know the whole family, so "friends" will do) of ours spent a year in Finland. They were telling me how different it is to Australia.
The other day, I met some sisters from Norway.
Europe seems like a fascinating place, and I would love to visit there one day!
Is there alot of believers, and young people, in your part of the world?
Welcome aboard Kristian. Glad to see you on here!
Hi Joe!! =)
azurity:
Oh, yes, Europe is a fascinating and interesting multi-cultural place in the world. While experiencing the most high-tech culture, you may see the glimpses of old culture, when Russia was Soviet Union and included much more square-km than nowadays... Worth a visit, I bet!
However, from my aspect, I cant tell much about the difference between Australia and Finland... (furthest place where I've travelled ever is Sweden :P ) But probably, according to the information about Australia, there is a huge difference in the cultur and in the people.... But the differences must be seen by yourself, to see, what is it. :P
But I personally like to live here, this part of Finland is very a peaceful place. And especially the nature is stunning up here (this part is called Lappland)! One of the things, which I prefer the most and would long that if we moved out of here some day to another place...
In which part of Finland did your friends spent a year? I remember only one woman, who visited in our english-lesson one day last year.... and I think, she was from Australia... who knows, if she was one of those friends of yours... :P
Well, in Finland, there is around 200 believers in the Message, mostly located in the south part of country... and not so much youngs here... :S
But there is quite a great number of believers in Europe generally, that what I've heard.... Mostly focused on the middle Europe (for instance, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France). I dont know how much, but a lot more than in the Finland alone... =D I'd like to go there someday to meet some of them. =)
Feel free to ask anything of Finland, if you are interested in it!!! I'll tell you as well as I know about it!:)
Lord's blessings to yall!

Wow, so you're from right up in the north! How far from the North Pole are you? It must get cold up there. Cold by my standards, anyway!
I'm from the south. Probably about as south as you can go and still be civilised. Hehe, ok, so not quite.
The work friends that went to Finland, their surname was Majoinen. But they aren't Message believers, so you may not have met them. I'm not sure what part of Finland they were going. And I don't know if they would have been to an English lesson, because they speak English very well. They were trying to brush up on their Finnish while they were there, tho.
What languages do you speak? What do you use most of the time?
And another question... where did you go on your long trip? 600km's is quite a distance. We drove about 1800km's last week (ok, so 900 one way) but then, Australia is a little bit bigger than Finland.)
When we met the girls from Norway (you can read about that on my xanga (http://www.xanga.com/alysa21)) my brother asked them if we had any strange customs, because living here is so normal for us. They replied, of course you do. He asked them to name then, and they said, "It would be easier to say what we have in common, and then you can assume that everything else is different." So I guess we would have very different cultures.
They invited me to come and stay with them in December, and attend the Youth Camp in Belgium. If I wasn't so for the cold over there at that time of the year, and my lack of finances, I think I would do it. But, we'll have to wait and see.

Welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey BabyRuth! :)
azyrity:
Uhm... North Pole.... far away still, I think.... :P
I think, here is really nice temperatures and very clear season-temperatures, like in winter, you get cold and in summer you get hot... :P The variety is from -50 to 30 degrees Celsius (in the maximum)... =D
Oh, yea... that woman was from Australia, and was telling us something about Australia and she was with a finnish couple, who were guiding her here... and she wasnt either a believer... so, dunno...
Haha, well.... It was actually only 280km to one way, to one city for to deal with some stuff, we had... But I think, in summary, it was about 600km driving... :P
Yea, no doubt, you probably really have different customs right down there, it is so far away from this "society" :P...
Another thing, which I remember (it were read about in the english lesson), is that you guys there have quite a weird language, or pronouncing... like for example die-day, sounds almost same and some other, which I dont remember... and there was a story, where an australian guy was in hospital, where that word-confusion came up also... I think, it's pretty funny thing! =P Is that really true, you do have a bit variety in your english than ordinary english?? Or is it only with those old-people there?

Oh yeah, Aussies definately have a language all of their own.
We love our slang, tho we wouldn't use it so much in the south, and I'm in a "Professional" field, so it really isn't encouraged!
But here's some for starters:
G'day. Mate. No worries. Bogan. Hooroo. Barbie. Mozzie... we love shortening words, then adding "ie" to the end. I did a post about it once on xanga: http://www.xanga.com/Alysa21/273607624/item.html. That post cracks me up. I'm so guilty of the thongs one. (Thongs is the Aussie word for flip-flops.)
Then theres our accent. But seriously, I love being Australian!
But this is off topic. We're supposed to be talking about you here, not me.
What's a DL? How old is it?
What sort of heating do you have? 'Cause in my humble opinion, that is mighty cold!! Our range would be from -5 (mid night on the coldest night of winter. I hate it!) to 45 degrees Celsuis. Usually our summers stick around the 20's to 30's, and our winters might get up to 15 during the day. We're in one of the cooler parts of Australia. Some parts hardly drop below 30 degrees, and in the desert, they would go for months without a day below 40 degrees. Air conditioning is more important than heating!
There I go again. About Aus.
what sort of animals do you have in Finland?
Is it true that people in the Lapland eat raw meat?
What is the fastest you have ever driven? Do they have autobahns in Finland? (I know they do. John told me this morning.)
What is your dream car?
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
And... what do you do? Are you still in school, or are you working?

You think snow should be light blue, you like pick-ups and your pizza sounds scrummy. I think i've found my new best friend :yay: lol
haha, Liz... :P I am now a best friend for someone!!! Thanks!!!!!!!! =D =D
azurity:
Yea... I wouldnt probably understand nothing about your slang or accents... :P Even that your post made difficulties for me to understand... some words was really weird... :P
Hey, I am interested to know about Australian... tell more about it!!
DL... I meant driving licence... :P lol
Uhm... we have many kinds of heating systems... currently we do have oil-central-heating-system.. but usually it's also electric heating and water heating.... (we do use air-conditioning-systems mostly in cars... it's really comfortable extra when driving while sun has hot shine. :D )
Yea, I already heard something about your temperatures there.... I was shocked, how you can survive there! If we have here about 30 degrees C, it's too much, can't breath!! And sweat is flowing down like a river of my forehead. :P But... I think, you are used to it, as we are used to rather cold winters... =)
So... about wild-life... usual animals are reindeer, elk, glutton(wolverine), white tail deer, bear, fox, wolf... these are most usual... of course there is then lot of different kinds of birds and small animals... Another chapter is pets, I believe, mostly the same as you have there (cats, dogs, horses, cows... :P )
It's partly true, that some eat raw meet, mostly those laplanders, aboriginal people... it's really rarely, when "normal" people eat it in that way, it's not healthy to eat it in a raw-form... (it can stuck your guts and that's not Good!!! Anyway, even I have tasted it, little bit freezed raw meat... it's not that bad as it looks... but only reindeer's meat, nothing else. Can't even imagine to taste raw cow meat!!! yak!! )
...have to admit... I have driven up to 150km/h... :$ ... but it was straight road.... :P How about you? :P
Oh, yes we have autobahns.... but not so cool ones as in Germany, where they dont have speed limits!!! =DD But however, we have very good quality in our roads! How about in Australia? Btw, I heard once, that you have there some unusual trucks there... like very long ones, was it 100m long or so and they transport stuff from the side of Australia to another... have you seen any there?
Well... one of my travelling dreams has been to travel to USA... dont know why, but it sounds interesting... :D What about you?
uups, I skipped one.... :D Dreamcar??? Well.... VW Golf of course!!! (okay, that's just joke...) but.... but..... I would like to have one day Chevrolet Corvette, the model before this current one... or that's only that I would like to test it one day... but actually, I would like to have one rear-wheel-drive turbo-diesel car, more than 3 liter engine... or it doesnt matter if four-wheel-drive.... but there remains only few cars left like Mercedes-Benz E or S 320 CDI or 400 CDI or BMW 330D or 530D or the most favorite: VW Phaeton V10 TDI, if possible with 4Motion!!! *I may just be dreaming of those... some potential dreamcar would just be Volvo T5(though it's petrol-car) or Audi A3 2.0TDI* ... haha, whatever... :P What about you? What would be your dream-car??

Wow man, you ask alot of questions! But that's ok, cause it gives me the excuse to ask questions back.
If I ever use "weird words" in my posts, you're allowed to ask me what they mean. Some things I'm just so used to, that I don't even realise that it's used only in Australia.
I was thinking that DL was some make of car! Do you have a car?
It would depend on how humid it is here as to how hot I could take it. If it's dry, then anything up to 40 degrees is ok. If it's humid, you'll feel sweaty at 30 degrees. But I like the heat much better than the cold, and don't think I could live through anything that got much below freezing!
Raw meat. I don't think I could ever consider it! I'm assuming that you like deer meat more than beef? I've only had deer once. It was ok, but I am much more used to beef.
I've driven up to 130km. It was in a 110 zone, so not exactly legal! Up in northern Australia, the roads don't have speed limits. But they aren't like autobahns. They are just long and flat with just one lane each way, so you can overtake when you need to. I've never been up there. Some of our roads, especially the highways and freeways are really good. Others are full of potholes, and we also have a number of dirt roads in the country areas. I drive on about 5km of dirt road to get to work. But I like dirt roads. They usually don't have speed limits, either.
I'd like to go to America one day too. Lord willing, I will be there in June!
I think you have alot more diesel cars in Europe. Here, diesel is mainly used for trucks and 4WD's. But it is getting more common, especially with the new European cars.
Some of our trucks are pretty big. I'm not sure exactly how long they are, but they can have up to 4 trailers on them. Road trains, we call them. But they are only used in the open areas, and never in the cities. You have trucks there, I'm sure.
As for my dream car... I answered that in my thread... "G'day mates" in the welcome thread. So you can ask all the questions you want about Australia there! We'll keep this thread for about you.
God bless you brother.

I know... my fingers just type and type and I can't stop. I've got to try and not make my xanga posts too long, or people won't read them. I don't blame them. When I see long posts from other people, my eyes go  too. And I just skim them without really reading them. But when it comes to my own posts, my fingers just go and go... no brain work involved at all, really!
Thanks so much for the car! She looks like a hot one. When can I pick up the keys? I wanna driiiiiiiiive!!!!!
Oh, and the cat. Hate to tell you this, but I don't like cats. So I'll just take the car, k? :-D

Wait a minute... where is the car?
Ahh, yes, I do have car... (not exactly mine, but.... I drive it!! :P ) It's called VW Golf IV. :) I like it! Very comfortable vehicle!
Haha, maybe they can bring the car for you, when they next time will bring british tea for australian people... I am sure, that they wont mind if LilyGrace put it with them :P
Sorry, LilyGrace.... I dont fancy cats either.... :S But we'll find a good home for them! My dad's cousin would probably take those, I think... he has already few hundred cats in his house... :P
But anyway, thanks for the Chevy... my brother used to have almost same kind truck, and same colour too! :D And thanks for the Pepsi, it was good with hamburger!!!
Hey, already four chapters... now I am finishing this for this day, that others have the energy to read these... :P
