Okay, so one thing that I have found pretty consistently among the majority of guys is the lack of maturity. Girls am I right? And perhaps the guys may want to respond to this too (to defend yourselves!!). I mean humour is one thing, and then overkill is another.
Any thoughts on this??

Well there are a lot of mature guys out there i have to admit, we have some on here like Joe, hotshot, trevor and maybe spamboy..that one is questionable:D
Then there are the immature ones... i have to currently deal with one in church, i suspect that he likes me because he is constantly harassing me, but Puleaseee that is not the way to do it, he is soo imature he just annoys me most of the time, but i try to be polite but i can sense the Blessed "tell him and get over with it" coming on soon...my patience is wearing thin.
Its like a five year old having a crush on me...but i really don't want to say anything to hurt his feelings so i guess i have to wait this one off..
Blessed:
My advice? Tell the guy that he is painfully immature and that you are just friends. It best for you and it's best for him - if he doesn't find out sometime soon, he'll set in his ways and go through life trying to figure out why everyone steers away from him. A real friend gives rebuke because they know that, like a spanking, it hurts in the present but heals the potential future.
Desert Roses:
What age group are you referring to? Or is it men in general are immature. Period.

I see a lot of immature girls - that think there not.
I feel like Cuzco...
" Hate your hair, let me guess you *think* your mature. " :aaaah:
It's on both sides and is part of growing up.
Can you explain more about "I mean humour is one thing, and then overkill is another." ??

true true! :D
Humour is like grease - w/o it, the parts of marriage create friction and wear down. :D

Yes, all too true! well, I will clarify myself a little... I am talking about early to mid twenties. I feel that many times guys come on a little too strong, and they do this with tacky humour to the extent of being annoying. Is this just a form of trying to impress? or do they really have nothing intelligent to say? I am not talking about ALL guys of course, just ones that I encounter, I guess...I hope you all can shed some light on this
BroTrevor
02-20-2006, 02:49 PM
So then, to clarify...
we're talking about guys, ages 20 - 25, and their respective maturity in their approach to how they communicate their romantic interests to girls?

HAHAHAHAHA. I just read all the posts.
Funny stuff.
I couldn't tell about maturity for 20-25. I don't hang out with anybody that age. And at my age (16) there really aren't "mature" people. There are a few (very few) who are though. And as for me. I am the epitomy of maturity in a young male person. Hahahahahahaha, that made me laugh.

LOL @ Mick_Mack89
Anyways, back to the topic:
In this message guys can be soooo overspiritual when it comes to getting to know a girl until you want to throw up.
While others are way the opposite - soooo frolic and joking - until you want to beat them up.
But why is that?
Why can´t brothers in this message act normal when it comes to approaching a girl?
Of course I am not talking about every guy in this message - but "normal" guys are definitely in the minority!!
Mick_Mack89
02-21-2006, 11:53 AM
And what is normal? Does it even exsist? Normal as best as I understand is only a perception of behavior, and it varies from person to person.
What is your "normal"?

I've always said about "common sense" -- what is common to me is not common to you. especially when it comes to different cultures. When I talk to my Eruopean friends I take it for granted they have the same experiences and enviroment I have... :lipsealed:

btw. what european country are your friends from Spamboy?
Sometimes americans have a funny concept about Europe.

I don't know too much about boys acting immature around me, unless you count siblings. I have always been the immature one, (I guess that makes me mature...admitting and accepting responsibility ) and the only guys that have acted immature around me were worldy boys, and all of us girls know how that is.
I guess it all counts as in are you just having fun and joking around, (almost to the point where immaturity is humorous, or you just act like kids and don't care what others think), or if you are having a serious conversations, and maturity is needed, and then immaturity is frowned on.

Last time I checked sometimes europeans have a funny concept about America.:aaaah: :tongue_sm ;)
Yes, and remember not all Americans, Americans Of The United States to be more precise, do not like super sized things, nor are super sized themselves. :peep:
Also, in this part of the world people in South America consider themselves Americans... Which they are... They are South Americans, we are North Americans. :)

Pulling things out the the garbage is illegal where you come from?! :dft002:
I'd be in big trouble if it was here. Twice a year the area around Sylvania, Ohio has a day where they can throw anything away. The rest of the year they are limited to two garbage cans a week. There's some pretty ritzy area in Sylvania and they throw out some NICE stuff! We're talkin' China hutches, lawn chairs, cameras, monitors, etc here ppl! I guess they think it would be degrading for them to put their possessions in the classifieds. From the looks of it, some take it as a competition.
"Look what I'M throwing out. This nice rolex watch. Don't have any use for it anymore, ya know."
"Well look at me. I'm throwing out my olympic size swimming pool. We had to upgrade, so it's gotta go!"
Oh the treasures you find! :yay:

Hahahaha, "ritzy" trash. That made me laugh.
Atually Joe I think it's illegaal to trash pick anywhere because technicaly the trash still belongs to the owner of the thing that was thrown in the trash untill the trash company comes and hauls it away. That would be why the police even need to get a warrent to look through your trash.
FreeAtLast, I would like to point out, in the defense of generalzing about americans, that knowing where the vacum cleaner was invented is not very high up on my need to know list. Using it in a manner that cleans the house is all I really care about. And as for the americans asking if you have vacums over there, well in someplaces in europe you guy's don't have real toilets, it seems after that we could wonder about a lot of what you guys actually have over there.
regarding your comment to Bush, what do you think of him? I know he isn't exactly the most popular guy over there in Germany and Europe. I personally think that I'd rather have him than either Gore, or either of the Clintons.
... or Flip-Flops
Anyhow. Trash picking in Sylvania. I've gone up and rummaged through the trash and the people will be sitting out on their prch or in their garage in a lawn chair. Some will even offer to help you get the stuff inside your car. I think it's some sort of pastetime for them. Like watching the Olympics.

HAHA Mick_Mack89. I was not generalizing. LOL. I was just telling you guys of some experiences I had with some americans.
Glad to know that you care about using the vacuum cleaner in the house! Haha
Where about in Europe are no real toilets? I´d really like to know that.
Of course in some parts in America they also don´t have real toilets. (parts in south-america are very poor!)
I have no big opinion about Bush really. He is just another politician to me. Maybe not as bad as Clinton or Gore but certainly not another Abraham Lincoln!
(It kinda astonished us though a bit when it was preached from the pulpit that he is a born-again christian and other stuff… which I don´t even want to go into!).

By no real toilets I was refering to the ones were there is only a hole in the ground. Although I can only be sure of this rather (I think) odd practice in France, my parents were over there and told me about some of their experiences.

LOL. must have been some country-side.
Just for those that read this:
These toilets in France or not just some holes in the floor.
they actually function exactly like normal toilets (with a flush... etc) the big difference is only that you can not sit down.
In case somebody wanted to know.
If not... who cares! :harhar1:
Btw Mick_Mack89, I always thought that it was weird too. :D

oh, they arent wierd, we have those here in church. and we also have the normal wcs. what more, in the country side, people dig several feet holes, put a board or covering on top and leave a hole for the works. they usually have a little board to cover the top after wards. so no flushing. :peep:

People we must be careful about generalisations. But I do find them funny though.I've heard some pretty funny ones about England and Africa. Such as "Oh my gosh your from England? I have a friend in England called Pete.Do you know Pete?".......Yes I do. I happen to know all 10 million Pete's that live in London alone...... Or while listening to the Lion King soundtrack in my sixth form common room " Oh wow I love this music. What are they saying Liz, can you translate?"..........yes of course I'll translate, coz Africa is just a small tiny continent with 100 people and one language......lolol
