Hey guys,
I just thought it best if I started a thread on 'deep'...and 'real'
For some strange reasons, I get so fascinated with this two terms. (Can this be classified in the sanity box or the other one!:))
Anyway, this is where I believe Ben Carson would say, "you get to unleash your potential" -
e.g, quotes, verses, - you know, deep things on life...in relation to 'reality' and 'depth'(not necessarily from the Bible, or from Bro. Branham's message books...) - anybody else..like mark twain- for the readers, abraham lincoln for the historians, shakespeare, robert burns, etc fort the poets, michellengalo,is it..for the artists..etc..make them one liners!!!
-the ball's on your side now....

I really wonder how deep our Lord Jesus was when he walked the earth, endowed with revelations from the Father. And to think also of the effects of Bro Branham's visions to his person. The supernatural will really determine our depth.

hey people,
i just got this one from the freeword.com site and i find it DEEP!
take a look at it...:
God called Moses to have a little curiosity one time to turn aside and see why a bush didn't burn down. He caught him… I hope the bush gets afire tonight, and someone looks and sees that God is in His burning bush.
William Branham
The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.

That quote by Albert Einstein is really interesting.

The moment I saw it, it really did fascinate me.
And that part ..."scientists discover whatis, and engineers create what never was"..is one worth to think of too......must be your new signature.......so much for 'i believe in sigs this week' -whatever that meant?.....:)

May I ask a question? Isn't it true that a Christian cannot do anything without God. Which basically means that man cannot do anything without an inspiration from a higher realm. And if everything done under the sun is inspired, is it then man's genius or he was just able to draw the higher inspiration from the higher realm?
Which basically means that man cannot do anything without an inspiration from a higher realm.

- okay.
anyhow, here is another one i just got from a certain brother who ws sharing with me.
"God speaks to us and through us. We need to recognize when man speaks and when God speaks." God gives you a new heart, a new spirit
and on top of that His spirit. God uses us who has His spirit in us
(Holy Ghost filled) See Ezekial 36:26-27, to rebuke and correct
because love is corrective and God is love. God uses our brothers
and sisters in Christ to speak to us, we need to be vigilant and
hear what is said.
God bless y'all.

is it then man's genius or he was just able to draw the higher inspiration from the higher realm?
man really can think for himself because of his free moral agency but I just thought that these particular tasks like new inventions might be coming from an inspiration. Though some people are really endowed w/ ingenuity or gifts since birth, it is altogether not impossible that some were inspired.
Not impossible. But to say that all inventions come from God would be erroneous. Although it could be argued that all inventions derive their influence from either God or Satan. But I'd give someone a hard time with it - just because I like people to prove that they've got a well developed thought. ;) You'd have a lot more solid arguement by simply saying that inventions, in general, are derived from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
It could also be argued that engineers don't really create what never was. But if you want to argue that, you'll have to find your own premises as I won't provide them. :harhar1:

Only God can create. Satan cannot create. He can only pervert what has been created.
I'd argue that engineers don't really create what never was based on the above quote. I'd also put the burden of proof of that statement ("engineers create what never was") back on you to show anytime in history where Engineers actually created something.
However, I do understand the statement in the spirit of it. Engineers generate ideas and transform them into something that's never been realized before. It's much like creating...but different.
I'm glad that you catch the spirit of what I'm saying - though I think you are referring to "create" in the specific sense of ex-nihilo.
But that wasn't the premise that I was speaking of. There's an even more solid Biblical premise for the argument to refute my sig (what a fun guessing game! <rubs hands in glee>)
BroTrevor

Thanks brothers. It's just amazing to think of those people who have successfully finished their work which mankind benefitted from. I'm sure what's in their heart is to help out humanity in its fallen condition. Because man was created with a soul, which prompts him to improve himself. I really do agree that it is not impossible that some of the works were from God because everything is for Him, but Satan just perverts or uses it in an unlikely way.
"God speaks to us and through us. We need to recognize when man speaks and when God speaks." God gives you a new heart, a new spirit

Heres a deep on
JESUS WAS THE FULLNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY.
Also 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
WOW!! Godhead is such a deep subject. We needed a prophet to reveal that in this last day. As one of my Pastors says God through Bro. Branham using Prophetoptics.

OK, I'll provide the premises for this arguement and see if anyone runs with it:

Only God can create.......
Ah-ah. Not so, we can create our own atmosphere! I do agree that only God can create ex-nihilo (which is, I believe, what Bro Branham was referring to), but we can create in the sense of using raw materials to bring something else that never was into being. Or is all that we do just a repeat of something done before, as it would seem that Ecclesiastes is telling us.
BroTrevor
03-01-2006, 12:46 PM
whoa....this could start looping...
I mean, even if you think about a car. Man created a car...but then you could argue with Ecc. that one had been created before...ok, so maybe back before the flood, they had a car of sorts...but wait, THEY had to argue Ecc. as well (even tho it hadn't been written yet) so how was it already there before that?
Very interesting....
ok ok...I'm looking up ex-nihilio
THEY had to argue Ecc. as well (even tho it hadn't been written yet) so how was it already there before that?
I don't think they would have to argue Ecc. for the very fact you mentioned. Also, I'm not sure if Ecc. was meant to be read as literally as we could take it. I'm thinking it deals more with spirits than with actual objects. For example, I don't think they had Starbucks even before the Flood. This is partly what I want to uncover in this discussion: What does this verse really mean?
BroTrevor
03-01-2006, 01:17 PM
Well, I'm currently looking at the underlying meanings in the hebrew Words. This is very interesting stuff.
"Thing" in verse 10 is the Hebrew word "dabar" which means...
1) speech, word, speaking, thing
1a) speech
1b) saying, utterance
1c) word, words
1d) business, occupation, acts, matter, case, something, manner (by extension)
Obviously we maybe more speaking of "ideas" or that sort of thing. Verse 9 doesn't have a link on "thing" for me...and I don't have the actual lexicon to look that up, nor do I have my actual Bible here with me.
I'm pondering this verse here...and the meanings of the Hebrew Word "hayah" which is the word behind "been" in verse 9. It's used extensively throughout the Old testament in various ways.
I agree...I don't think we're talking literal.

-Well, guess am just into music and poetry. they speak unto my soul and below is a song by Michael Puryear and and Bill Luther. I hope you find it as deep as I have.
There are lines that separate us,
lines of colour,lines of 'race'
we all come from different places
but we share a common need
and the best of good intentions
on our own get in the way
but we're called to make a difference
to give His life, His love away
and -
Be a bridge for love to cross over
and one by one worlds come together
take the stones ,from the walls that divide us
and use them to unite us, where we live
be a bridge.
you can say that it's useless
you can point to history
but one light has pierced the darkness
and it's changed the heart of me
everyday we all have chances
no matter who or where we are
to close the gaps that lie between us
to share God's love with open hearts and -
NB:race - replaced the original term, which was 'creed'!

I have come to listen to a message preached by Bro Chris Hall, at Happy Valley. It touches a lot on Godhead and the mystery of the Oneness of Jesus Christ and of the church with God. It was entitled One Body One Voice (http://www.happyvalleychurch.com/catalog.php?in=Sermons&search=2000), it's located below. I was blessed by it, I hope you too.
And this qoute from Bro Branham will really help you a lot and furtherly bless you:
THE.SEVEN.CHURCH.AGES_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-2 WEDNESDAY_ 54-0512
211 Watch, it's the Church speaking to Him now. "Waters..."
Revelations 17:15, said, "Waters means thickness and multitudes of
people." Now, "His voice," or this Being that was standing there looking
like this, Christ in His Church, as the Bride and Christ being one, like
husband and wife is one; the Church and Christ being molded together
with one Person, the same Holy Spirit.
And the things that Christ did, the Church does also. Do you see it?
That beautiful Church there in holiness, in power, in majesty, with
seeing visions, signs, wonders, everything just like He did, here it is on
earth; giving all praise to God, saying, "I can do nothing except the
Father shows Me; but He showed Me, and here it is." And they come
see these things go to taking place.
Now, Christ molded into one.
... and the voice... of many waters...
God bless.

I feel so low,
my days are dark...
I search and search,
no joy inside
I turn around, then I look up
I see your light
shining through
Then I hear a voice say,
"I'm with you........"
Do I have to even say anything about it? Nah,it's deep! Well, my cousin always tells me am obsessed with depth but well, I just can't help it. I love God and well, if anything's a tidbit about Him,it's got some kind of depth to it. I hope you find the depth I have found! God bless y'all!

I agree with Joe and Halima and Bro Trevor, in the fact that things perhaps weren't literally there, but the whole idea, and concept was there. Man has been thinking about flying for centuries, but only in the past 100-200 years have we really done anything about it.
As for getting deep, I really enjoy Proverbs, as it has a lot of really deep subjects. I have a question to bring up...has anyone noticed in Psalm 22 the words that Christ cried on the cross, and how later on in the same chapter, it was fulfilled?
PSALMS 22:1
1 ¶ To the chief Musician upon Aijeleth Shahar, A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? [why art thou so] far from helping me, [and from] the words of my roaring?
(MATTHEW 27:46
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? )
PSALMS 22:17
17 I may tell all my bones: they look [and] stare upon me.
JOHN 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
JOHN 19:35
35 And he that saw [it] bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
JOHN 19:36
36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
JOHN 19:37
37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
PSALMS 22:18
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
MATTHEW 27:35
35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
Any thoughts or comments? I saw this when reading it and was curious.

The prophets of old was raised as representatives of God for their day. To a certain degree they lived the life of Christ, being annointed by the same Spirit, doing the same works. But the full manifestation of that Life happened in the life of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thus confirming Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

ah I love when God speaks :)
In fact He speaks a lot to us, though we often do not really catch it :embarrassed: I hope and pray you'll hear Him more and more
bible promises Holy Spirit comes, to support, also to talk to us... even to share the secrets of Gods heart with those who God trusts :)
