So, what do you all think of all the possible reffing mistakes in the Super Bowl? Would Seattle have won if the refs didn't make the bad calls?

Ship me some ice cream, and I'll start a thread about it ;)
Who played again?
I know a classmate won $400 on the bowl and that's about all.
I also know that the favored winners were not favored on Las Vegas' line - rather odd :misli:

Umm... what does that mean? How else do you determine who is favored other than the line?
Well, my understanding is that there are different lines. The popular favorites were the winners but the winners weren't the favored team on the Vegas line.

Naw, they made way too many bad passes and missed catches. It was just an off game for them, but what a time to be off! Too bad really.... I rather favored them to win.
Did you know Seattle's coach is a Christian? His wife was over doing a mission trip during the game and when asked about it, he told the press that she was doing the greater work.

Did anyone find it just a touch odd, that JoeC knew nothing of who played, yet he seems to know quite about bit about gambling and such??
:y14: HEY!
I only know about it because my classmate is a gambler. :ranting:

Sry, you're way off base this time. The only thing I could gamble in is the penny poker.

Lol, I still don't get it... but maybe it's just cause I'm not betting all my pennies on it ;)

I don't understand it all that well either.
I actually heard that when the eagles were in the super bowl the other year and lost, I heard that people who betted on the eagles actually won money because the patriots were supposed to win by alot more than three points.

I can understand that mick-mack... if the patriots were 7 point favorites, then you subtract 7 points from their score and see who won for betting purposes.
what are you DJ? A bookie?

He's a type of bookie. He's an accountant. Very similar. Lol, j/k. It's pretty simple to understand the over/under for two teams. If you're gambling one team is obviously going to be favored, so to make it more even the bookie's figure out a "point spread" between two teams. So then the favored team not only has to win, it has to beat the other team by a certain number of points. So you can bet on the losing team, and still win the bet because they didn't lose as badly as they were supposed to.
No. I've never gambled.

Uh huh, sure. even though you knew that Hotshot was a bookie. Yeah right, you've never betted on anything in your life. I know your a bookie, you make a living off of all those old retired people who wanna bet all their money, don't ya noah. :harhar1:

Man, I've been caught. I just did a little of that on the side to make some extra dough. Don't tell anyone about it. We'll just keep this between you and me. *Wink Wink*

You better not let that get out Noah ;) Rick Tochet (a former Philadelphia Flyer) is being investigated for running a gambling ring, and it's not looking good for him...
