Art....

so, i'm taking an art class. we have just been given an assignment that has to be political in nature. now, this is a multi-media class, so we have free reign. we are to create a "statement", basically, that conveys one or more of our beliefs. i heard what some of the other people are doing, pretty boring if you ask me: environment, animal rights, etc...

now, call me crazy, but i thought this would be a good opportunity to put religion out there. i'm going to create something our religious/biblical definition of what women should be.

and then we have to talk about them....

what do you all think?

Hi,
my mom is an artist: modern art! and she is a christian - message believer.

She had a very famous teacher , the most welknown German artist of the 20th century: Josef Beuys. Your teachers should know him ...

While she was at university art's class, she got converted. But God did not take that art gift away. Many years she did not do anything but now, after my dad past away, she restarted. and is doing big and great things. even message items. she does a lot about the old testament and jewish culture. not to forget the holocaust of the 2nd world war is one of her main subjects. she did already big exhibitions: at synagoges, at churches, on rememberance days, at museums etc.

she believes: there have to be persons that proclaim God and his works in arts. nowadays there is heardly anybody to find that does his work for God. So it is up to her to proclaim Him. Now she is trying to organize an exhibition in Israel... we gonna see.

PS. Br. Branham liked arts too and sees God in it. you can read it in one of the "reserection" - sermons. do not know exactly...

i'm practically going to have to write a speech!

she said that anything that had to do with religion, race, gender, etc was "political" so, its good. some of the slides we had to look at were horrible though, and i just looked around the room at other stuff because it made me really uncomfortable. to me, that isnt art

that would be really cool.....i was planning on taking a bunch of photos i have and focusing on the fact that we all have long hair and skirts and arrange them in the shape of the cross. in the corners i'm going to write stuff about modesty, long hair, etc....

oh, you could do pictures of people with short hair then people with longer hair etc, growing longer. in the midst, put some men with long hair and some with short. with the pictures for men, the ones with long hair is dark and the one with short hair is bright to show it is really a man. for women, the other way round. you could put a background that is suggestive too. something to show that. oh, i love art. before i got changed, i used to design clothes and do poetry. i believe art and every other talent should be used for God. oh, amen! praise His Holy name. He gave us talents so we could use them for His names sake. :banana: :smiley_vi :banana:

oh, i saw that my last post suggested that now i am changed i dont design clothes or do poetry any more. i do, i still do it. now though, the difference is i do it for His names sake!

well, i finished my project.....i turn it in tomorrow. we hang our art on the wall and then we critique one another's. i have to prepare myself for angry folks....keep me in mind when you say your prayers tonight, everyone :012: there are several crazy people in my class.

Hey, no one is into art here or what!!! - sounds to me like it's not a very interesting topic. - art is life people. :)

i actually got some suprisingly positive response (only a little neg.) one girl told me that my art was beautiful, the way i lived my life was beautiful, and that i was beautiful too....it was pretty cool

I really enjoyed the art piece. What a testimony to those at your school! That must have taken courage to make that bold statement, just as sister make every day they walk out of the house with dress so radically different than the rest of the world.

They it some great art work. It is AWESOME HOW YOU CAN USE YOUR ART WORK FOR GOD. I myself am a musician, (finishing off my music degree) and am so happy I can use my talents for God. Keep up the great work. Its great to see fellow young people standing for Christ.
