He is linking to an outside server which holds the image. It's through a glitch in our system - something anyone can do really. We're working on disabling it for obvious security reasons, though we are hoping to add his smilie collection to our database.

the last option under Edit Options is to pick your editor interface. I was trying out the Enhanced Interface, and in that one when I clicked on a smilie it just put the smilie into the post. Apparently it was copying the location of the smilie instead of the code for it, so after your change they got blocked even though they were referencing to YQ.
