Hi. I'm Trevor!
I'm here on these forums...wait for it....wait for it....NOW!
I live in Sellersburg, IN. I'm 26 (although ever since I turned 25 I stopped keeping track...I can rent a car now without paying extra...I have officially arrived)
I hope that being 26 does not disqualify me from being a young person and hence unacceptable on these forums! I still feel young...still wish I could go to WYR! (married now) but...I am thinking of seeing if I can be a counselor next year! (for the purely selfish reason that that's the only way I would be able to go)
I am an IT guy at work...err...when I'm not on these forums. I know these forums are going to be a ding on my productivity! blast!
I enjoyed some of the riveting discussions in the Study Hall, and I'm thinking of doing a post in the guy/girl area as well as some of those discussions have intruiged me.
Other than that, I'm open to questions to get to know me better.
Later!
-Trevor (new guy turned "budding conversationalist" in a day!) (it didn't seem that hard to do tho...but I feel accomplished anyhow)
Ah yes...and I am in search of a perfect avatar for me. Any suggestions are indeed welcome.
(don't you love it when people through in the word "indeed" - it's the most useless word I know of...couldn't I have written just "suggestions are welcome" doesn't that mean the same thing as "suggestions are indeed welcome" I digress...)
Heeey Trevor!
Anna's sister here. (if you hadn't already figured that out -smirk-)
WYR is wonderful! so selfish or not...we understand wanting to be there. And being a counselor will balance out your selfish ways.
strange...its almost like being a slave. (which several 15 yr olds are)
indeed is a good word. dont knock it. it makes you sound intelligent.
(restrains self at this precise moment)
(I like parentheses) (don't you?)
If you were a cartoon character, which character would you be?
Who's your favorite superhero?
If your lawn was a different color...what color would it be?
BroTrevor
01-17-2006, 03:00 PM
Jeni...I know who you are! But don't worry...I wont say anything.
If you were a cartoon character, which character would you be?
- Larry the cucumber. (Minnesota Cuke especially)
Who's your favorite superhero?
- I was never much into super heros... so this one is hard. I was told by one silly individual that I did indeed look like Mr. Incredible. Or remind them of him in some way. And since he's kind of a big guy...I guess I'll choose him.
If your lawn was a different color...what color would it be?
- I'd really like my lawn to be green. Instead of brown or mud right now. (does that count?) Oh, you meant other than green. What a strange thing that would be. Probably Orange...a soft orange, so as not to burn your eyes when you look at it.
(ah! did you know if you scroll down you can see the thread that you are replying to! I didn't realize this until now! How handy!)
I'll offer one more thing about me:
Dreams:
One of my dreams is to write a devotional book, something like Max Lucado writes, but from a message perspective.
-Trevor

You can't be Mr. Incredible! I already met him - at Winter Youth Retreat of all places.
*scrolls down* Wow, that is so cool. How come no one has mentioned this to me before?
Max Lucado is awesome. A message Max would be even more so. Do those of us on the forum get a special discount once you publish your devotional? *hopeful look*
BroTrevor
01-17-2006, 03:39 PM
Message Max!! Heehee... Hilarious
Sure! Discounts will abound!
I'm currently working on an idea with 1 Timothy 4 right now.
and I do post some stuff on the blogspot website me and a buddy have
http://twomessageministers.blogspot.com/ This is my first attempt at this kind of thing. I try to make it devotional style... still working on consistency tho. It's hard.

I thought of more about me! <sarcasm>Since I know you were all DYING to know.</sarcasm>
Things I really want to do someday
- Go to Australia and see Uluru.
- Become good at Kayaking and shoot a couple vlass V runs
Well, I can get depressed if I think about those 2 things for too long, so I'm going to end this post. But I really want to do those things someday.

hi Bro Trevor
:welcome: i think you are too old on this forum for a welcome but since you introduce youself you get a welcome:D I can see you are volunterring information to escape the interrogation smart move:D
Blood Washed Bride
01-18-2006, 11:51 AM
Sweet! I want to see Uluru, too. It's on the agenda for my next visit Down Under. That and the Great Barrier Reef.
haha.... You want to kayak? Come up to my place - we'll have you outfitted in no time. The Class V you'll have to find elsewhere, though. :ng_thumbd
methinks mel nolikee the Class V

If you are the Mr. Incredible that I think you are.....I met you. You Bro is dating Amy Brown, yes? Well, just because he is volunteering information doesn't mean that he still doesn't get interrogated.
Okay, so if you are mr. incredible, would you add a cape to your outfit, or would you leave it the same, do you like the red outfit better than the blue one. (BTW, I hope I am not the one you were referring to as the silly individual who remarked that you really do look like him, because if you are the person that I think you are, I believe that I am the one who made that observation.), which smiley do you like best, what is the career that you have planned, if you were to name your door, what would it be, would you change your socks just because someone asked you to, or because you had had them on for so long that you couldn't bend your feet anymore, do you like office depot paper better than office max paper, do you shop walmart or k-mart, what is your favorite color, what is the first thing that you would buy your son if you were to adopt a 7 year old boy, do you like rolls or muffins, do you ear breakfast or brunch?
BroTrevor
01-18-2006, 03:51 PM
Ok, I'm not this Mr. Incredible you think I might be....unless of course you met me at the WYR that I was at...I think it was December 98...but then I wouldn't have known about Mr. Incredible then...so it would be tough to make the connection.
Also, my brother is not dating Amy Brown. (who is she?)... but anyhow... I digress...
The only reason I said anything about Mr. Incredible was because Jeni (I think) asked if I was a super hero, who would I be...and I could only think of 3 superheros at the time... (superman, batman and Mr. incredible) and I figured I was most like Mr. Incredible out of all of those. That's it.
Onward to the interoggation. <grim determination written across face>
Cape is a bad idea.
Uhm...I think the red one I like the best, although were I to actually try the two on, I might prefer the blue....tough call there, I'm no fashion guru.
You aren't the individual.
I guess I like the original just normal regular smiley
The career I have planned is to continue on as a web application developer/network engineer or something of that nature as I have been doing for the past 5 years. (self-taught...didn't do the college thing so I started early...it was hard tho)
My door would be...George I think. (sitting here looking at it...I know it sounds boring and unoriginal and uncool...but really...I think that's what I'd name it)
Socks...would I change them? (sounds like a book title)
That would depend on why the person was telling me to change them
"uhm...your socks stink would you please change them?"
"Dude...your socks....seriously...my eyes?"
I think I would be embarrassed enough to change my socks.
But if it were....
"Trevor, you're a loser, change your socks"
or
"Hey, let's be random...change your socks"
Probably wouldn't change them.
------- argh!! I didn't read on...that whole answer above wasn't even the point of the question!! ---
ok... socks... is this supposed to mean...which would I prefer??
I'm guessing that if my socks got so bad I couldn't bend my feet anymore...I'd change them.... Otherwise...see previous answer.
enough about socks.... onward!
Uhm...Office Depot? (i have no idea why)
Walmart or Kmart. Uhm...neither if I can help it. I'd prefer Meijer or Target. Although Walmart is a bit cheaper...I'd shop there more if it wasn't packed every day. I call k-mart k-ma-part (say it fast)
Color: I'm really liking orange lately.
7 year old adopted son: I'd buy him a bed. (is this to practical?? The kid has to sleep somewhere! -- Were you expecting me to buy him an Ipod? Come on! <chuckle>)
Hrmm...probably rolls better although I don't really put those into the same class.
i really don't know about my ear and breakfast or brunch. My ear usually doesn't have anything to do with those 2, unless of course I was eating Rice Krispies (snap! crackle! pop!) But if that's what we're talking about...then I'd definitely have to say that my ear would rather hear Rice Krispies in the Morning for breakfast.

LoL. What is it with North Carolina??? All the excitement is here.... Oh, Trevor, I'm sure you know Daniel Andes, if you see him, tell him hello for me. Sellersburg is awesome btw. Hey Mel, why didn't you introduce me to Mr. Incredible at camp?
BroTrevor

01-19-2006, 08:53 PM
Okay, I didn't meet you at camp. There was this person at the table that Blood Washed Bride and I sat at who looked like Mr. Incredible, and his brother is dating Amy Brown, the granddaughter of Bro. Homer Brown. (Don't know if anyone is familliar with the name. ) And sorry about the type. That was pretty funny. I meant eat.

Hey Mel, why didn't you introduce me to Mr. Incredible at camp?
Hmmm... Let me think here... It was at the banquet, so despite the first thing that popped into my mind when he gave away his alter ego being, "You know what? I bet Matt would really enjoy meeting Mr. Incredible", I had no idea where to find you among those 300 people. Nor did I see you for the duration of the banquet, and seeing how Mr. Incredible left with his sidekick for home that very night, I had no way of introducing the two of you at any later time. Please accept my humble apologies.

Lol, if you can keep your thread on topic about you, you will be doing far better than pretty much everyone else... on my thread currently Mick Mack and the girls are having an interesting argument that is completely off topic...
Mick_Mack89
01-19-2006, 11:45 PM
Key word there was "interesting."
Nice to meet ya trevor,*shakes hand and smiles* but to survive in this wild place you need to get used to the complete randomness of this place.

On my thread, they were arguing over who got the last word in. How utterly useless is that?
BroTrevor
01-19-2006, 11:55 PM
OK, that's nice and everything...
BUT We're not talking about your thread or his thread...
or some other Mr. Incredible guy.
ME! talking about ME here.
Get to know ME in this thread.

p.s. That's ME

BroTrevor
01-19-2006, 11:59 PM
I need to start a thread on
"why is random so cool"
But I guess I wouldn't really expect any answers but random ones...
and how scientific or riveting would that be?

Excuse me sir, have we gotten violent here? I have heard somewhere that a GENTLEman NEVER hits a lady, which I am. I have seen that you have smacked another girl. She may not be the fighting type, but I am. I will bring this to your attention as the fact that even though this is in fun, the real life rules still apply.
HotShot53
01-20-2006, 12:33 AM
Lol Matt... you have gotten a might violent here... now they may have deserved a  or something, but hitting is going a bit far ;)
Mick_Mack89
01-20-2006, 12:47 AM
(pretend this isn't here, for the sake of the fun. Yes a Gentleman would never hit a lady. No man should. I don't go around hitting girls, because it would definately be wrong. My apologies to any confused persons out there.
Now back to the show :) )
Oooh, were gettinga little chauvinistic here are we?

Just checking: Do you all even know what 'chauvinistic' means? *raises eyebrow*
HotShot53
01-20-2006, 01:22 AM
Lol, I looked it up before making my last post to double check ;)
Prejudiced belief in the superiority of one's own gender, group, or kind: “the chauvinism... of making extraterrestrial life in our own image” (Henry S.F. Cooper, Jr.).
In this case... the prejudiced belief in the superiority of one's own gender
Mick_Mack89
01-20-2006, 01:23 AM
Of course I know what it means, otherwise I would not have used it.
"Prejudiced belief in the superiority of one's own gender, group, or kind."
