View Full Version : what YOU want!
Hey, what does everyone want to see in the next issue of Youth Quake?Themes, types of content, new focuses... etc.
We're only publishing 3 - 4 times per year, so we want to make sure we get the best of what people want crammed into each issue - no fluff!

Okay, you'll be able to tell that I'm really graphics oriented by what I'm going to say next....
More pictures!
LOL. What I mean is I'd like to see less pictures, but have them be bigger in size- more like what you'd see in a magazine article. I'd like to see something colorful, entertaining, yet to the point. Hmmm, I guess that statement could almost describe YQ. lol

I would like to see more articles, especially since you are only putting it out a few times a year, I think it needs to be longer. I would like more articles on advice for young people and topics that are big issues. I really enjoy Youth Quake. I wish it would come out more, but I'm grateful it's there at all.

OK. List the big issues. Tell me what's what. What are other ppl in need of?

Maybe something telling dates of things, like a calendar, and what is going to happen on YQ next, like planning a time where everyone gets on at once. Something involving everyone at once.
I would like more articles on advice for young people ...
What kind of advice?

I like what you have, article-wise, just more of them. Big-issues: not too sure, maybe: how to witness, what to say for certain things, etc. Advice, anything!!!!

Glad to here that you're taking the initiative to print out YQN and share!
As far as the pen pals section is concerned... We used to run a "Pen Pals" column; however, we had to discontinue it due to lack of use. Simply put - no one was writing the people that posted their ads in the column (not even the other pen pals!).
In retrospect, it really wasn't a good idea to have it in the first place. Posting our readers' physical addresses on the internet with their age and sex is something that is an unsafe practice on the internet. I can all too readily see some stalker convincing a reader that they are a believer and just happen to be in the area to meet them.
The more I think of it, the more I want to undertake the task of removing each physical address and updating every issue. Man! I'm kickin' myself here! :no-no-no:

Don't worry about it. God will take care of everyone, He allows for mistakes, although it's not really a mistake, and He protects His children.

why not make a email pen pal list that you can send out too ppl who request it. dont have to put it in the news letter, just say write this address for a pen pal list that way you can still have it just not post it in the new letters
I appreciate the input. Any other ideas?

I believe in trying new things, but I think the old way is usually safer. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate lots of the technology, but things are so much more dangerous with more technology.

so an old bulletin board located at one church for all of use to use and yet none of us live near it is better than this one that we are using now that we can all have access to and share with eachother with out having to wait on snail mail for our replies to get to us and hope that someone posts our message on that board?? thats better than this board?
actually think the real question is what is the old ways because, if you are saying that "but things are so much more dangerous with more technology." that means we all better start getting out and walking to the next bible camp cause the wheel itself is a piece of technology :D

I don't mean everything, I mean things in general. Things started going downhill as soon as technology came around. Sure it does good things, I use tons of technology, everyone does, but it is more dangerous. More deaths because of vehicles, not that I want to walk, but it's a fact. More "identity thefts" because of technology, to name a couple.

You do know that we don't publish them in printed form, right? That's why theyre in PDF format... you print them out on your home PC and it's already formatted for you.

Not to be disagreeable, but six billion people, maybe 7 billion now, is actually the largest number of humans to ever walk the planet at the same time. And this is due, in a large part, to technology. But all the glory does belong to God. So, it's probably His doing anyway.
Advances in medecine has saved more lives, and, arguably, prolonged the average life span. Advances in agreculture has enabled us to have a better quality of life (also arguable) in densly populated areas. Advances in transportation has made the distribution of goods and services more efficient than ever, and the internet has "increased knowledge" a hundred fold.

I agree completely. Technology is great, but at least it seems to me that is has caused more trouble than it's worth. Yes, I like technology, and I use it all the time, but life would be much simpler, however it's all in God's plan, so it's actually perfect. :D
mmm. I agree. Life would be much more simple. However, I rather enjoy our advances in medical science. The fact that people don't die of appendicitis, hernias, teberculosis, measles, diabedies, polio, the flu, tonsilitis, strep throat...
I mean, sure, we'd rely on prayer. We do anyway. But at least now-a-days we can save the unfaithful too. :P

You're right. I don't think I could live without coffee. I didn't really forget it, in this context, but I love coffee. Last night, my aunt made this amazing mocha punch with espresso, milk, and ice cream. I had a lot, partially because my throat was dry and sore, so it felt good. But, I drank quite a few cups and I slept fine. I just love the taste. Normally at home, I drink black coffee, I'm not much for putting tons of sweetener in my coffee, but I do like lattes or mochas or frappuchinos, as well. I am Greek, Greeks love black coffee. :)
