Should one consider a higher position rather than the income in a job?

Which one has the potential to carry you furthest? Also, which one would you enjoy doing more? I think there's too little to go by to make an educated decision, but where would you see yourself 5 years down the line in each position? How much are you willing to invest in either position to make it worth your while. I like money, but I also like the ability to better myselft and move past a status-quo and make myself a better employee. Also, taking advice from me might not be the best seeing as I've ever had only one job.

I'm in a similar position as mad_wrapper, only having had one job, and I'd probably give similar advice ;) Basically, does the one job have a better work environment, or do you enjoy the work more, enough to make up for earning less? And where will the jobs lead you in the future? Does the job pay less now, but will pay more in the future?

I would say my first priority right now would be that the job itself is Spiritually in line with The Word. After that, I would look for how much I love the job. I would prefer a job I am happy doing to a job I am unhappy doing but earn alot in.
I am now doing a job which pays me much less than my former job but I am so happy doing it I am usually waiting eagerly just to go to work. I usually can't wait to get there.
