What traits and characteristics do you admire that you see in your parents? Doesnt matter if its as a christian/husband/wife/father/mother/brother/sister.
Which one or two is so important that you would like to see in yourself?

I'll answer later when i have a few more moments.

I would have to say I like the fact that they have kept the family prayer tradition each evening. That makes me admire them immensely

I admire my parents for being our church camp directors. It's a lot of work and they put up with a lot of grief from people. That's 1 thing I admire in them as a couple.

About my dad...he's a hard, dilligent worker.

My mom...she always has good ideas and can carry them out nicely.

My dad is (almost) always soooo patient...he's even been accused of being to nice :juggle: lol (but I don't think so) I would love to be as patient as he is...

lol, theres alot more than one or two :)

I really admire my dad's ethics... especially in the kind of business he is in, there are a lot of 'gray' areas.
Also the fact that he doesn't judge people, and never hold a grudge... something I would definitely like to inherit :)

My mom's patience and compassion, and the fact that she can smile no matter what is going on.

My mom with her creativity in activities, willingness, patience with my dad's silliness in teasing her, her good natured laugh, her keeping in touch with people, her sense of taste in a lot of things.

My dad's creativity, his ability to learn, his sweetness, acting goofy around his spouse of 25 years.

Characteristics I hope to develop, skills I hope to develop.

I love my parents.

I think you've got "goofy" in the bag already. :juggle:

My mother's fortitude in hard times. Her patience with her most exasperating child (me).

Dad's willingness to buck the system if he feels it needs it, (although I think I got this one already - thankfully with more tact). Dad's work ethic.

One thing I admire about my parents is how hard they have worked most of their lives. My mom started working full time when since she was 16, and my dad about 14. And even though they live paycheck to paycheck, they've always been able to provide for their family.

My dad is such a handy man, and can do just about anything around the house. He has saved us a lot of money being able to do things himself. Not that is something I'll ever be able to do, but if I marry someone that is as handy as he is, I won't complain. :D

And my mom... she is just amazing with children. They are so drawn to her. I want to have that same effect on children! Haha...

i admire my mother for teaching me how to clean and bake!!!! lol.....she rubbed off on me! now, i can't stand the place we're in because it's not clean yet! (well, cluttered is more the word). i also admire her ability to forgive.

i admire my father for his strength. he has overcome cancer, a major blood clot, and lives with epilepsy. but he always fought. i admire his attitude toward everything (well, mostly everything)......he still craves knowledge and if he wants to do something, he'll figure out how to do it himself.....

they aren't perfect by any means, but I do love my parents (and my stepparents!)

I admire my dad's thirst for knowledge and the fact that he knows everything (slight exaggeration I know). I love his sense of humour too

I admire my mum's quiet strength and patience. I admire the fact that she worked nights so that she could be there for myself and my siblings when we were growing up. She was soo tired, but managed to take us to and pick us up from school and come to every play, concert, egg rolling competition, easter bonnet parade and May day celebration.

Oh...that reminds me...yes, I appreciate that about my dad. He knows something about everything! Sports, politics, cars, electronics, taxes, the government, and especially history (!)-and he could teach classes about WWII or Vietnam...

I admire my mom's big heart... full of love. As a teenager I felt she overprotected me, now I think "She only loved me."
I admire my dad's work ethic and humor. Sometimes I want to be angry with him but can't because he will make me laugh instead! :)

i can clearly recall my mum's creativity, tolerance, quiet strength and love for God and us (my sister Sharon and I) that I'll forever admire, its unfortunate God took her Home when I was 8 and my sister 6, so I really have no much to say about her - all I can recall is the way she adored us! and she could go with us practically everywhere, playing with us, teaching us basic values of life. I recall one day when I treating a real bad wound on her leg, I was about 7 then, I asked her 'if she died, where would she go?' and she said 'heaven.' so i started askign her the usual kid questions, like how heaven looks like, and if its up or down, etc - you know and well, let's just say I miss her - that's why its taken me a while to actually respond on this thread. I love my dad lots, he is funny, mysterious, forever reading, he is an educationist and loves investing in books - he is so supportive too!
he is not a Believer yet, but I have entrusted God with that issue.

I love my step mum too and my step sisters, they are the most beautiful girls ever! ;) I pray daily to spend eternity with all of them.

I cannot fail to mention my uncle and my aunt. My uncle is my dad's bro and my aunt is his wife - they are Namwacha's parents, they are my guardians(me and my sis). I admire my uncle's dedication to praying; He is a Prayer Warrior like no other. My aunt is a Christian! I admire her strength, though hers is not queit - ;) she talks her heart out and she does not keep grudges, i really admire her...she has taught me the most valuable lessons in life as a girl..and my uncle too, I really admire Him, He's a role model to me in many ways. they are very supportive and the best example for a couple based on Godly principles. My uncle also has a great sense of humor. This humor, I must say it should be running in the family, ahem, right Es?

I could say more but yea, I really thank God for the best Family ever in the world. :)

 God bless your family sis, i think i see some of what you have said especially with your Auntie. ( she says exactly what she means!) I however didnt know some many others!!
Good that the Good Lord has provided you with such a good environment sis!!

My story would be quite different,.......lol

But still praying and satisfied with the salvation of my soul.
