people calling themselves branhamites

Read in some websites that there are actually people who believed that bro. branham is the messiah and every word that comes out of bro. branham is absolute. What are your thoughts in this? I really would like you all to share.

I can't seem to find it, but Brother Branham said all the time that there were people who thought that he was Christ, and he said that by making him Christ, they were making him was anti-Christ. I could be wrong, but I am almost positive I have heard that on one of the tapes. Feel free to correct me if I have made an error.

I've just read in betweens lines in a website, where bro. branham went to canada, finding people wearing badges that has his name on it and they baptise in his name. so he went back jeffersonville crying telling the congregation that..i have to look for that website again, it's in one of articles in the site, The Contenders. i don't know which other websites exactly but i've been reading them between the lines.

I did have one brother tell me that he was sad because he was the only one who he knows of with the revelation that Brother Branham was God in flesh. Your sister met him too Elizebeth, In one of the believers chat rooms that we use to talk in.

And he came into the chat room looking for fellow believers who believed this sameway because each person who came in the chat, his first question was how they believed. I had a serious chat with him about it, and you know what my feelings are on the subject. I think it is something that we hare going to have to pray about because if we love our brothers we need God to set them back on the right path.

There is a Church of God church near us and some other group that are conservative Christians and are very nice, but have a lot of restrictions and look down on people from my church. Some of their rules are good, modest dressing, but are just that, rules. We don't have rules, we have things that we follow because they please God, but our church does not have rules, like their's. Anyways, we see people from their church all the time and smile. Some of them have come up to us and asked us what church we went to, and when we told them Cloverdale Bibleway, they called us Branhamites. Their church tells them that we worship Bro. Branham and have some weird cult and other stuff about Bro. Branham being our god. Well, to me and everyone else I know, he is a major prophet like Paul and others. He had a Message from God that was just for us and for this day, but he is not my god. I only have one, the true God!

Bro Branham's message was to point us to christ, the devil does not want us to see Christ so he makes genuine honest ppl believe that he was the christ...Bro Branham plainly said that he was not the Christ but the forerunner of the Christ

What's really bothers me is when you tell denominational Christians that you aren't worshipping a man but following him as he follows Christ... just as Biblical time believers did Paul - and they still won't accept it. They think you're just giving them a cover up.

The thing of it is people have lazy minds. It's easier for most of them to just classify us as a cult rather than ask themselves if we really have a substantiated position.

Excellent answer! I've heard believers say that they're Branhamites - meaning that they follow Bro. Branham as he follows Christ (not that they worship him). But even that sends a mixed message. Paul rebuked those who said that they are of Paul, or of Apollos; or of Cephas. We are of Christ! Christians, not Branhamites. I'm sure Brother Branham would shudder at the word.

ever since i started going to church and change my apparell, my dad and stepmom's family say i'm in "a cult" and that its okay if i want to do this or that (blah, blah, blah) and it gets really frustrating because i dont even share what i believe with them.....it gets to messy. but it is sad that i cannot do that and makes it hard to "march on"

this was one of the websites i was talking about...it's not the website claiming the heresy but the website pointing out that some people actually do that..no wonder some people have so much bad opinion about brother branham...i can't believe how some people can misinterpret the message to the extreme..makes me feel so bad just thinking about it

my problem is, i care so much about what people think..and it makes me feel so awful to think that some people actually think that way about us or mistaken us as like them..but i know God knows what's in ours hearts and who we truly worship and we worship the One Living God who is the Lord Jesus Christ and we are His Bride! and i believe that brother branham was His servant!

i just hope and pray that those people would turn back from what they have misinterpreted about brother branham being the Christ...just looking at those pamphlets, makes me feel sick..i just can't help the way i feel

Is the church in the report believing in polygamy? I don't know. But I do know a few preachers and pastors who actually believe that Bro. Branham taught polygamy and that a believer can have as many wives as long as the law of his nation allows it. This is one of many false doctrines that has been attributed to William Branham.

As Bible believers, where do we stand?

The answer is simply: In the Word of the Lord!

It seems to me that the "Prophetic Revelations" website is trying to disprove the Message by showing the extreme ends of it and then concluding that it cannot be God, God wouldn't be in such a mess. What they fail to recognize is that every great move of God through the ages has been accented by extremism and radicals. This is evident upon looking at any history book that accurately records the happenings in well recognized moves of God such as the Reformation.

Oh, I agree with you. It certainly does go to show just how much people can misinterpret the Message... but I think it also shows that these people become a stumbling block to those who look at the Message from the outside (for example, the Prophetic Revelations people).

yeah i guess i agree with that..but then it can also stop some people from the outside from thinking that we are worshipping bro. branham, only those who has sadly misinterpreted..but rather we are worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ! :)

PPl don't realize they are following someone. The difference is we "tell" ppl who we are following while they "hide" who they follow either due to ignorance or embarrassment.

It's not so much the angel of REV 10:7 that we adore but the Angel of 10:1 that we worship. :)

Many ppl follow :

- a pastor
- a good man
- personal development leaders (big movement today)

I think another thought is ppl "think" they follow their owns ideas and thoughts not realizing we are sheep.

Unfortunately thats life, there are extremists in every "religion". I'm sure as non denominational Christians who believe that Bro Branham is a prophet we have our fair share of nuts among us.
Although calling them nuts is probably not the best word to use, but for the lack of a better word right now it'll do.
I think it's too bad of a situation, we're labeled and thats that.
More importantly, God knows who we are, and our relationship is about what we believe, not what we are labeled.

I was just chatting to someone whom I've known for a while today (though we don't talk much anymore...), and I knew she knew about Bro. Branham, but didn't really follow him at all, even though they do believe in holiness. So I asked her tonight what she thought about him, and it seems as if she must have heard about him from one of the groups being talked about here... she thought we believe you had to believe in Bro. Branham to be saved, etc. It's a shame that the people who believe that way taint the truth...

But please pray for her that she will understand the truth, she accepts that prophets could happen in this present time, and said she won't say anything against Bro. Branham until she inspects his teachings and his lifestyle for herself. Also pray for me that I can say the right things....

Wow, D.J. That's really great. She sounds very open. I'm glad she included that part about not saying anything against him until she investigated his teachings and lifestyle. It really makes me nervous when people speak out against Bro. Branham or any true movement of God. God takes that very seriously and it's not a matter to be discussed lightly. I've heard too many incidents where someone has said something negative regarding Bro. Branham or believers who adhere to a standard of holiness, only to be struck with a serious illness shortly thereafter.
As for myself, even if I disagree with a movement within the Christian community, I try to be discreet in what I say regarding it. Unless I have solid Scripture to back me. God may lead others in ways He would never lead me and that I don't fully understand, but if it's of Him I don't want to be a hinderance.
