GUYS GUYS!
WHAT IS UP
lol i have seen my sis on the girl talk ( didnt read anything)
but there is like 20 hot threads!
And i sign up for youthquake and go in the fort ( which isnt a fort if it isnt strong) and there is 2 hot threads. I think the guys need to start talking more. anywho so i decided to help it out.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HOBBIE?
note: post and comment!!
's cause we don't really have much to talk about. It's not like we take the fort wars very seriously anyway. I don't think there's anything guys talk about that's very exclusive to the male gender anyway.
Nobody's brought up the "big M" in this forum in the year or so I've been here. And that's about the only real guys-only-discussion I can think of. And even then, it's not really guys-only. It's just not something that'd be civilized to talk about around the ladies. Cars, sports, marriage, food, excersize, favorite places, computers, video games, movies... 's all stuff that's been talked about exclusively in the girls forums, and the public forums. But I guess us guys just don't care enough to exclude the girls from those kinds of chats. That or the conversations are just too boring with only dudes in the room to talk to.
Then there's the girls to guys ratio on this board. Way lopsided. We run out of content way faster than them just due the sheer numbers.
Lessee,
I really enjoy hiking (actually thinking of buying a lighter tent as per Nate's recommendation, and the fact that mine has sprung a small leak).
I just came back from Pictured Rocks in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and I'll be posting the pictures as soon as I get them.
Other big hobbies? Eating, drinking coffee, and trying out new resteraunts.
oh, and from my profile I filled out two years ago:
mountain biking, weightlifting (don't get to do this anymore), downhill skiing (expensive!), chess, running (I have started this back up - w00t!), hiking, kayaking, reading, etcetera
btw, welcome aboard Friar. Glad to have someone read to chew the fat from the get-go (uh, no pun inteded there. it slipped out:().

First off, we aren't competing with the girls to see who can talk more, that is a losing battle, even for the more verbose of us. That's ok though, we focus on quality, not quantity...
As for hobbies...reading, writing, volleyball, arguing, drawing ocassionally, fantasy football, I used to be heavy into martial arts, I've let that go in the last few years, but I'm looking to get back into it, just gotta find a good instructor who will teach stuff I actually want to learn.
I wouldnt mind trying paintball...the guys here at church went through a paintball phase a couple years ago, but I never had time to do it with them, and for the most part they have all gotten bored with it and quit.

I like to do outdoorsy stuff.
But mostly, I hang out with my wife and kids.

Hmm... my favorite hobby, as most people on here know, is computers online... mainly chatting, these forums, and xanga ;) Don't have time for much else ;)
I prefer scrabble, word-up, trivial pursuit and scattergories. Games which aren't based on the roll of a dice, winning when it is based on pure chance is meaningless. At least to people who like to win anyway, like me.
My hobbies are:
Playing keyboard
Playing computer games
Weights
I agree with Tommy, we don't want to compete with girls. We could never spout as much verbal diahorrea as them even if we wanted to... that is to say we couldn't talk as much as them...
Quality > Quantity
A little too graphic there. :/
