As believers we have to stand out from our fellow unbelieving youth groups. So, would you care to share what activities you are getting in at the time every one else around you is "arm in arm"? You have to show yourself a true son of God. It gets particularly tricky when you're a high school kid or College student!! Trust me I've been there, seen that!;)

Hmm, very true. And I llike your topic for this thread, it doesn not limit us from discussing about what you have started and I am looking forward to reading interesting and most of all constructive and inspired and inspiring responses from everyone over here.
Well, in this worl, so full of pleasures* which I'd like to say 'signing a death warrant', and not just a death warrant but an 'eternal death warrant'...how do we conduct ourselves. O my, what has crossed my mind at the moment is the fact that we sure need the Holy Ghost to guide us even as we engage in whichever activities. It is tricky, as the verse that says 'we are the salt of the earth' comes to my mind. Well, But then I believe that the word of God is great, and it makes one Whole Solution that does not contradict itself. Trust God, His Word will always keep His children and Our Guide, the Holy Ghost, will Never ever let us down! relying on Him is more like it for me. :-)

title's making me feel like saying, wish I had more pleasure and less sorrow -- you may see that as a reply, as to... can't imagine I'm much of a testimony to any of them

I'm not exactly sure I get what you mean. But, my church's young people's meetings meet every 2 weeks. We have a mini church service that is youth oriented. We don't goof around and play rock music and games and stuff, but we have a good time around God's Word. On the other hand, the youth groups at denominational churches that my friends go to play games and goof around and do things I would never do at church. It's sad. I've even had some of them tell me that they can't believe some of the things they do at church. The devil is so deceitful. But God is sooooo good! I miss young people's. We stopped for the summer.

Lemme clarify, it's pretty much easy to be a christian in church. We all try to be, but it's when you're alone, out in the world that you "got to prove you're one in a million!":D

I know what you mean. Even during games among believers, there is a sort of respect and a sort of godliness. I remember i was listening to a message recently and the prophet said, if you cant do anything in the name of God, do not do it. So whatever you do, think to yourself, can i do this in the name of God?
Now, question, i go to a certain church on Saturday with some friends for their youth meetings, not believers. After reading this post, i am beggining to wonder whether its right at all. They do not believe in visions, dreams or many of the other gifts and thats what they teach. They play games and all which is ok, but after, the guy who drops us home puts worldly music and loudly too. He doesnt see the problem of worldly music which i obviously have major issues with, sincei cant listen to it in the name of The Lord. Now, i am asking for advice, what do you all advice i do? Should i cotinue hanging out with them or not. They are Christians and i know no other people in SA so it used to feel ok till recently, but there is also the other side...
i think the music side of it is pretty bad on his part as it isn't polite not to take into consideration someone elses views. if i have a non-christian in the car, which is very rarely, i ask if they mind me putting music on. some do and some don't

Well need God, the prophet answered a kind of similar question in the COD ( Can't remember the page though.) He said we have to be careful what friends we go with. It's always a good idea to stick to the message believers!;-) Not saying you have to outright denounce your "other" friends.
Let's just be careful.... Just my opinion.;)

well well, all I got to say about this is that if it aint for the King then it aint worth a thing, not even your lonely-lessness....it aint worth it at all NeedGod. And when going for those rides, or whatever they are, is God backing you? If He is, trust me He'll cover you and you wont have any problem with music or whatever. Is He really backing you?
I'd rather you have no friends at all and have God's backing...have Him on your side.
God bless you dear....

I always use the rule of thumb... if I think someone might be offended by something I try to not do it at all... because a lot of times if you ask someone they'll be nice about it and say they don't mind when they really do.

yeah, i take that into consideration, the fact that they may just be polite and say they don't mind. Dpends on the person to whether i put music on, ask if they mind, or don't ask and just don't put music on. To put it on without caring how others feel about it is wrong.
