OK inform me, Photo Galleries?

OK what memo did I miss out on that told us why the galleries aren't working? thanks a bunch

ever since the server move, they haven't been working... I wish they would get working soon, and keep all the pics I have labeled on there....

My guess is they were brought over via ftp and the pictures should have been transferred in binary mode, but they were transferred in ascii mode.

I didn't do it tho. So I can't be sure.

If I see Simple around, I'll ping him about it and see if there is anything I can do to help.:training:

There was an error in the backup and transfer procedure when moving the files to the new server.

The old provider may still have the old files, if anyone is willing to ante up 125 an hour for them to look for them.

Otherwise, sorry everyone who's pictures didn't move. They probably wont be back.

Depends how long it would take them.... it took me hours to put up and label all my pics, and I'm sure others spend a ton of time too....

I keep my own copies of the pics I put on the gallery. I don't think we should rely on the gallery to keep our only copies of the photos, but to share photos that we like with others. I don't blame you Simple

Yep, pretty much... it looks like the descriptions were saved, and just the pics were lost... so I guess I'll have to copy and paste the descriptions to the re-uploaded pics, and then remove the original nonworking ones...

don't know if it's possible or not... but is there some way of making all the pics that didn't transfer visible to the owner of the album only? Otherwise it might be hard to find the pics that actually are re-uploaded, and the random pic now always shows a broken pic... Don't delete them though, cause I plan to copy and paste my descriptions, to save some time ;)

I tried to change this, but while Joe made me an admin, it's little more than a mod. He needs to make me a superadmin, and then I can edit links like that.

But then, he may be leary of doing that since that valentines day stunt I pulled.


Oh, and yes, you should be able to replace your photos now.

Ok, finally got logged back in, but my computer has since been wiped and all my pics are on my bros computer. So I should have them all back on this time next year :D
