That's very good cause here i am using your space again to ask Joe to tell us more about himself

Due to popular demand, I am here to talk about me.

It all started when my father first saw the twinkle in my mother's eye... and then there was the spanking incident (the doc got my ends mixed up... which really explains a lot).

Anyhow, I grew up an independent young lad in a small church with very few young people - my sister and I were the only ones after the split that happened somewhere around my age of 9). I attended a private christian school where I bucked against the social classes my fellow students set up.

By 7th grade I was ready to start homeschooling - and I did! At first my mom taught me, but eventually I just taught myself. I just sent in my last exam for homeschool to my correspondence academy and am attending our local community college (http://wccnet.edu/).

I am currently taking Intermediate Algebra (MTH 169), Critical Thinking (PHL 123), and Conceptual Physics (PHY 105).

I started this semester thinking of going into business - almost certain. And now I'm changing my major to engineering with a certificate in technical writing and an advanced certificate in supervisory management. Just pray for me there, I really want to be led of the Lord.

OK, that's about it. There is, of course, a lot of stuff about me in between these facts - but that's an overview. I'm opening the board for discussion, questions, sage advice, etc.

JoeC
11-17-2005, 12:09 AM
No really, there aren't too many things about me that are interesting to others.

Oh, I can't sing. I even quit my choir for the betterment of the whole.

When asked in 5th garde what I wanted to be like when I grew up I responded "as stubborn as a mule!" My response, along with the (pathetic) drawing got posted in the school hallway.

Ummm... I wore spiderman undies when I was like 5 - but C'Mon :hey!: , who didn't do that?

Christian-Samurai
11-17-2005, 12:13 AM
I was always partial to Batman myself :D

collegegirl
11-18-2005, 02:45 PM
I agree with blessed. You guys have a strange sense of conversation. Yeesh. Blessed, keep shaking Joe. I think that there is more info to what he is giving. So he has never had a g/f "pursay", but what about a serious crush? Hmmm.....??

blessed
11-18-2005, 02:59 PM
excellent observation detective shall we now do some futher questioning

collegegirl
11-18-2005, 04:35 PM
What shall we start with? :D

Christian-Samurai
11-18-2005, 05:39 PM
I still want to know, who what when and how did you get involved with YQnews

JoeC
11-18-2005, 07:54 PM
Sister Sharon VanWyke, who was the one to start YQN back in the 80's, kept on suggesting it to our youth group when we held our monthly meetings at the VanWyke house.

I finally decided to toy with the idea. Talked to brothers in the printing industry. Looked at software. Called ministers. Talked to my pastor, Bro. Paul, and finally came out with the first issue. For more info, read Where We Came From, What We're Doing, And Where We're Going in the May 2003 issue of YQN.

blessed
11-18-2005, 08:14 PM
hmm.. ok now could we get back to the question collegegirl asked

JoeC
11-18-2005, 10:43 PM
I already answered that one. :)

Christian-Samurai
11-19-2005, 04:35 AM
You tell them Joe :D

blessed
11-19-2005, 10:48 PM
i don't think so she asked if u ever had a serious crush i don't see where u answered that, it must have slipped me somewhere

JoeC
11-21-2005, 01:00 PM
No serious crushes. Not that I've never liked a girl, but I only let myself go so far with my emotions. Certain qualifications must be met before I allow my heart to get involved.

collegegirl
11-21-2005, 01:08 PM
Thank you. The next question will be brought to you by blessed. :D

FreeAtLast
11-21-2005, 01:34 PM
Collegegirl, you really want to know it, dont ya?! ;)
hmmmm, didnt I read somewhere on here that you "complained" that noone was your age? What about Joe the boss? hehehe
Blessed where art thou? Didnt you do the match-making?
ok, ok ppl I am only JOKING!!!!!!!!!!!

Christian-Samurai
11-21-2005, 01:53 PM
Certain qualifications must be met before I allow my heart to get involved.

OK joe Begin the listing, the girls really want to know what they are and we can skip the givens lol

collegegirl
11-21-2005, 02:05 PM
Okay, I had a few applicants interested, so I was just wondering. :D

JoeC
11-22-2005, 11:51 AM
OK. The listing of qualifications. The things that MUST be in place on either side of the equation.

ME

Before I get serious about a relationship, I must have a good job (40K+ starting salary) or be very close to being able to get a good job. If we begin courting, figuring on a one year courting scale, I should be able to support her by the end of that year. So, at the very earliest, my senior year in college. Unless the love hammer falls...

Before marriage, I must be able to afford a house. Not an appartment. Not a trailer. A HOUSE. With more than just a master bedroom and one bath. Something big enough that we can grow into.

Before marrige, I must feel that I am spiritually & emotionally ready for the responsibilities of a household. There's so much more than just having the Holy Ghost.

HER:

She must be domesticated. I'm not going to prepare myself 5+ years to be able to support a girl that hasn't even bothered to learn how to do laundry, sew, or cook a full meal (and we're not talkin' mac & cheese here folks. She should be able to have the ability to cook several different main courses from scratch)

She must be filled with the Holy Ghost. Not five years ago, but recently. You know what I mean. She needs to show signs of growth in the Lord.

She must be willing to homeschool her children. Some college would be helpful here.

She must show that she is under a head. If she doesn't submit to her father or her pastor, she isn't gonna submit to her husband.

Okay, there' some basic things. Preferences are something else. For example, I hope that she's willing to have five kids. If not, that's okay. For more prefs - you can check out my dream girl trait list (http://www.yqnews.org/forums/showpost.php?p=3316&postcount=13).

Okay, I had a few applicants interested, so I was just wondering. :D

I'm sorry, could you clarify that one? A few applicants interested in you or in me? I'm confused

blessed
11-22-2005, 01:21 PM
Im here, now catching up.......Five kids Joe!!! do you have any idea what labour is like....
Also i need some further clarification on this ""She must show that she is under a head. If she doesn't submit to her father or her pastor, she isn't gonna submit to her husband.""

Exactly what are your thoughts on this statement, more like an explanation.
You have good ambitions...its great that you will like to have a house at first. one more question...homeschool we don't have that here so please explain like what age it starts and ends, the full da da da about it.

My questioning will continue after the response collegegirl.

JoeC
11-22-2005, 01:31 PM
Headship:

For girls that live at home, this is showing a spirit that is in agreement with her father.

For single girls that live on their own (which, btw, if the father is a believer, I don't think this should be happening), this means showing a spirit that is in agreement with the pastor of her church. I've seen to many single sisters come into our church with an independent spirit that just doesn't seem to submit readily to ALL the word that is being preached.

Homeschooling:

This is where the parents school the children at home, beginning around the age of 5 or so. The parents are the ones who take the initiaive to plan the curriculum and to teach the children. This is almost neccessary with the present western school system.

When the child reaches high school age, it is recommended to switch to an accredited christian homeschool correspondence course. This way, colleges will respect the kid's diploma.

collegegirl
01-02-2006, 01:17 PM
Well, I think you all forgot to put the Human part back before he left. He was very still and formal when I met him. His movements were very robotic. Now that he is back, I think that you should put that particular piece that Hotshot53 was talking about way over here.

Christian-Samurai
01-02-2006, 02:31 PM

Lol, I agree with collegegirl though... Joe can be a bit stiff and robotic looking at times ;) Not saying there is anything wrong with that...

You guys are probably referring to my good posture. It's something not many have, so I can see how one might interpret as "stiff and robotic."

Christian-Samurai
01-03-2006, 03:25 PM
umm no I dont think thats what they are talking about lol

are u all saying that he has a good posture thus being referred to as robotic or is it his movements

collegegirl
01-05-2006, 11:31 AM
It is totally his movements. I have good posture most of the time, but I make it look natural. Joe looks robotic. It is his movements that are robotic, not his posture.

collegegirl
01-05-2006, 11:31 AM
