I observe that I appear to be subscribed to random threads, like Word Assosiation & Plus&Minus, etc. Sometimes one thread, sometimes two, sometimes none. Sometimes I'm even subscribed to closed threads.

Being that I have never subscribed or unsubscribed to threads, is this some weird quirk of the forums, or some mod flexing their power muscles?

Hahaha... The same happens to me. I still don't understand it.

I'm a mod, and it even happens to me.... must be a bug somewhere in the system

I believe you started the last word assoc. My thoughts are you may be subscribed to the threads you start automatically.

I could be wrong tho.

No... I just checked, and the 2 threads I was subsribed to I hadn't started....

Which neither confirms nor denies what I said really...but like I said, I could be wrong.

I probably am, I have started plenty of threads, and I don't think I'm subscribed to anything.

ah HA!!

It is as I suspected...

Azurity.... go to USER CP...then go to options... then scroll down to "Default Thread Subscription Mode" and select "do not subscribe"

I think that'll take care of your anomolies

mine has been set to "do not subscribe"... and I still get subscribed somehow

And now I'm not subscribed to anything, so I can't even check the theory. But I think most of them have been threads that I haven't started.

So somehow, in the past hour, I became unsubscribed to two threads. The mystery continues...

Mine was also set to "Do not subscribe."

Well, at the moment it is, anyway. I'll check again when my random subscriptions appear.

Ok. Now I am subscribed to Word Association XIV which was started by BroTrevor.

And my options are still set to "Do Not Subscribe."

So, we're back to Square One.

I wonder if simple might be able to help us out with that

It happens to me too...I think it might have to do with how many times you've replied to a certain thread...just a theory.

have you recently posted to those mysterious threads. Only subscribed threads I have had where either on purpose or one I posted too.

Yeah, I've posted to all of the threads within the last day or two.

You can subscribe to threads inside a reply... Maybe you just accidentally clicked it?

I would highly doubt that.. it seems like almost everyone has threads they get subscribed to without them doing it, and it's not all that easy to accidently change the subsribe thingy when replying... but maybe that's where the system gets messed up....

You can? I didn't know that...
I'm going to have to look for that now. And I've noticed that the subscriptions appear after 5 or so posts. At least it does for me.

Ok, so I've learnt that on the User CP, you can scroll down to "List Subscribed Threads."

There were four threads all together. The ones that I was seeing were subscribed threads that had been posted in recently.

I have deleted all those threads, and will watch to see if they re-appear.

But now that I know how this thing might work, it could just prove to be very useful!

This is about threads...what's a printable version on here? I saw a spider crawling this (http://yqnews.org/forums/printthread.php?t=7) thread and it says "Printable Version." Maybe I'm exceptionally dumb, but what does it mean?

HotShot53

if you click on thread tools, you'll see the option for a printible version. Basically, it's a version without all the extra colors and graphics, so it's easier to print a clean copy.
