Noe I like Art too, I'm a potter, what kind of art do you like best? I like pottery to most
i took pottery classes for three years. we made things from scratch i.e. a mirror frame and a bowl. we then painted ornaments that were already made, first we rubbed the seam off then they were put back in to the kiln, and then the fun part:yay: PAINT. our teacher was a perfectionist so it had to be just right:) . We also did decoupage (sp?) weaving tissue paper into baskets. oh and glass painting (designing the pic and then painting). i think taking the classes really got me into art, i wasn't that interested, well i was interested but not madly interested.
i love to color, scraperfoil, sequin art, scrapbooking, and i have done a water painting before but am not over keen on doing anymore as i really don't like paint on anything that isn't 3D.
i also like to cross stitch and crochet.
thats all i can think of so far:)

sounds like a fun class, I don't like to paint 2-d much either, I'm okay, I had to take two classes in college for it. My teacher was nice and understood, why I was so bad. I go a B.
I like photography, I took a black and white photo class and it was fun to use the enlarger and change photos anyway I wanted.

a class would help big time
vpiper
11-03-2006, 05:36 PM
The thing I hated about art classes though is that it ruined movies for me(yeah I'm a bad girl I watch movies) I think about how much work it took to set the scene and the art in the video work and the dancing in fight scenes.
a class would help big time
Which one of us are you talking to:) lol. marichino_freedom or me

I would love to take a photography class..sigh..don't have the money. And why do astronomy classes have to be all about what makes a star? Why can't they be about how to locate the various stars? I know what's it's made out of, but I can't find it!!!!!

:topicoff: He is a funny angry man.
but I remember Isaac getting angry this weekend about the card game, that was embarrassing, but funny too, poor loser
Photography classes are a good idea for Mary too, you can always learn more from a different teacher.
My friend Amber took Photography on-line, I thought that was weird until She showed me How she took the pictures, read a book and mailed her pics into the professor for grading. She did not do any complicated developing like I learned in school. But You could get a book on photography and that might help, borrow one from the library that's free.

I Love Museams Art gallerys are ok but really there is an art in everything The sun the sky the grass the trees
Theres art in a little old Maori Woman with A wrinkled brow watching the world pass by her doostep
Theres art in every strategic way the bones of a dinosaur are placed
Theres art in taxidermitry
There's art in the city the towering builings the smog the people and birds that inhabit the park
Art is all over the universe you just have to look for it

thats true...sometimes you have to have an open mind and heart about it....but some of the modern stuff just is ridiculous
vpiper
11-08-2006, 04:00 PM
that's why it's not art unless some says it is, now who gets to be that someone.
Only One Life, Live 4 GOD

I'm not very creative with hands-on things. All I can do is crochet, and not too well at that.
marichino_freedom
12-01-2006, 12:10 PM
i tried crocheting.......never did get the hang of it
i like crocheting. i have made 2 blankets, a scarf, and a purse:) . Oh and i attempted to make a cardigan (without following any kind of instructions) it really didn't turn out:peep:
vpiper
12-05-2006, 11:14 AM
crocheting can be an art form but it's usually falls under craft, people put pottery in the craft category too, but I believe it depends on what you are doing.

12-05-2006, 12:17 PM
speaking of doing things.....i got an idea when i went to lunch the other day. taking a terra cotta pot with a piece cut out of the center and gluing moss and rocks and little stone frogs and turtle and making it a fountain.
vpiper
12-05-2006, 03:59 PM
most Terra cotta pots have holes big enough for a fountain's cord to stick out the tricky part is keeping the water from going out the hole too. great idea though.

I was trying to post in the I'm back thread, but since I ended up here, the lady who I contacted about that art fair in February sent me an e-mail saying we can still apply since they have some openings. I want to do it, but I don't think I can do it alone right now. It's too much. :( Maybe next year.
I got a different application from Country side Village in the mail yesterday, do you guys what a copy? it's 160 for 2 days, but you guys will have to have your own booth.
marichino_freedom
01-09-2007, 04:51 PM
