I was gonna post in the books thread but its been closed, so i'm starting a new one.

I just finished reading the first book in The Chronicles of the Kings series. "Gods and Kings" by Lynn Austin. Its awesome. Anyone ever read it? It really brings the story of King Ahaz to life and about how wicked he truely was. I'm now looking for the second book about King Hezakiah. May have to buy it.

I've never read it, but I may just have to now :). At the moment I'm reading a book called The Righteous Men. I've just started so I'm not too sure about it at the moment.

Yikes! I just looked and our library has them all! I have book one on hold, but I am going to restrain from getting them all at once, because I have a very bad habit of starting one before bed and then finishing it...hours later...so I'm trying to have self-control. I'm excited to read them!

Wow, I haven't heard of those books, maybe I'll get around to reading them someday.:)

I recently finished the Pilgim's Progess, though. Has anyone else read it?

yep pretty much the same. all the characters are lil kids so its easier for children to relate

Never heard of that series before, but I want to read them now.

I had never heard of the series, either. Trevor saw the book at the Christian Book Store and thought it sounded good. Then he bought it on ebay for a couple bucks. I read it as soon as it came in and now I'm hooked. Need to get the next one soon.

Trevor hasnt read it yet..i beat him to it. LOL

Just went and ordered them all from the library...
Which one is the first one?? There's two titles here that both say "Book One"...

the chronicles of the kings? the first book is "Gods and kings" book two is "song of redemption" ..that's the one i have to get.

Oh well. I got both of them anyway. Wonder what the other book one is to? It says Chronicles of the Kings on it...

Well, I'll get book 1 first :harhar1: but maybe we can make a deal...if you get 2 b/f i'm done w/ one, i'll let u use 1 if i can use 2......:) We'll see how long it takes to get here....it it's too long maybe the series could be a Christmas/birthday option!

I found all 3 of the Zion series for $8-10 (counting shipping). That's amazing! Normally those books are that much each! So I possibly may have 24 new books by the end of next week...I'm still deciding if I should buy them since I have pretty much unlimited access to them at the library.

Just finished The Righteous Men. It was very good apart from the theological nonsense. The ending was good, coz I had no idea who was behind everything and when I found out who it was, it was like 'no..no..wow..nooo'. I won't be reading anything for a while coz it's back to uni and work this week - argh!!!

Well...just finished almost the entire series of Chronicles of the Kings..they were good too.
And SisTrev...does Gods and Kings start out with King Hezekiah as a little boy? Because I noticed that one of the other books in the series had been renamed and they had the renamed one in the library, but the other one (original) was exactly the same. Might explain the reason for the two books appearing as "Book One".

and yes...book one starts with Hezikiah as a little boy...

I orded book 2...waiting for it to come in now...

Ok, then I'm thinking that Gods and Kings is the new and renamed version of the one I just read, but it's really the same book. Just a theory.
And if that's true, then Leah, you don't have to wait to read the first book much longer. You can just get it from me.

I just heard of Dee Henderson's books this week. I have read one each of the past 3 nights...

I'm reading the O'Malley series. It is about 7 people who adopted each other as siblings and became a family. The series has a prequel, then a book about each. I think they kind of have the same plot for each book, but I like the action and suspense in them! So far I LOVE them :)
