ya my room gets like that some times errr i mean most of the time, hardly any of it is my mess though. I share my room with my little sister (7 yrs)and little brother(5 yrs) and there is always some toys on it. :ng_thumbd I wish i had my own room :012:

lol, my parents figure it's not their room... so as long as they don't have to be in it why would they care what it looks like?
But it did almost give my poor dad a heart attack the last time he went in... simply because of how I had painted it :)

I love the sari, beautiful colours!

I love saris, they're so cool!

We must have a bigger Indian population over here, because we see them quite a bit.

Love the colours in yours. Red & gold, so oriental & striking!

You look georgeous. I love the colours too. Not many people can pull off that kind of red...way to go girl :yay:

thanks....actually, a nepalese guy came up to me and told me that the sari looked "so good on me because of the color" he said my complexion was right for it, which is so cool to hear because i'm so pale.

but i was told later that to them (generally speaking, japanese, chinese, indian, etc) that pale skin is "beautiful"......kind of like our american perception of "bronze is beautiful"..

pretty interesting.

but thank you all....i love it and i feel like a princess in it!

It's so pretty....

Any my room is clean for the moment...Mom had company over on Monday and I was convinced that they would want to see my room, so I cleaned it up so nice...good thing too, cause the minute two came through the door, they asked to see my room. :)

Moms know best... lol

It's about time I straighten up my room, too. I mean it's not too messy, just some things here and there that needs to be picked up. :D

Actually it wasn't her idea at all, and she was quite perturbed that I was spending more time cleaning my room than helping her make the food.

I remember when we were young and mum would ask us tidy up and we would ask,"why who's coming round to visit us?" lol. She would get very annoyed with that reply and ask if we only had to tidy up when company was coming round :D.

My room doesn't take too long (it's jail cell size really) but it's so nice to see it clean. Gives me a real sense of accomplishment. :)

i have decided to put my nose to the grindstone and just get it done this weekend.....and finally put my sari away....i'm worried it'll get ruined

AlanaH
10-27-2006, 04:42 PM
Probably not a bad idea. A lot of those Eastern fabrics are really delicate and need safeguarded.

marichino_freedom
10-27-2006, 04:49 PM
yep...i need to have my grandma hem the ends too so they dont ravel

AlanaH
10-27-2006, 04:56 PM
Yeah, that's the worst when the ends go all stringy and you have to hem them. It's happened to too many of my skirts.

My room is pretty small and tight because my sis and I share it. I usually have some clothes to put away, but not too much. However, when I start cleaning my room, I can't just put my clothes away, I have to clean the entire room. I end up going through all my drawers, dusting, washing, everything! It turns into a long full day of cleaning my room.

AlanaH

I mostly put stuff away and then vacuum. My room never gets too dirty because I'm never up there except to change and sleep. Even if I watch something on my DVD player, I'm usually laying on my bed. So it mostly gets piled up with clothes before anything else.

I just remembered you said you wanted to be Black and White for your Wedding, but you have plenty of time to think about that.

marichino_freedom

well.....my dress will be black and white, my bridesmaids on the other hand, they will be truly "ethnic".

AlanaH

I still don't know that I like black for a wedding. The guys, sure, but not the girls. Mine is going to be vibrant colors. :)

I love the wedding dresses with the black embroidery on them.

Im definately wearing gold for mine. All the girls will probably have to wear black :) (giving you lots of warning there Leah)

That is in less I change my mind... it has been known to happen to me once in awhile... lol

Babyruth

Black looks good on most people, and it's "slimming." :D Not that anyone needs to worry about that part, especially Leah.

marichino_freedom
10-31-2006, 01:36 PM
mine will be white, but with like half black on it......

I've seen a few wedding dresses with a little red embroidery on them and thought that was cool. But it would never go for me. <sniff>

my cousin got married on a beach, barefooted and in a red dress...while it was all very pretty, the red dress just didn't seem right...but each to their own i guess...

you are going to make your dresses you might want to start now, It takes a long time, I think it would be very hard to make a wedding dress, fitted and all

One of the seamstresses up here finished her daughter's wedding dress the night before the wedding. She had hand-embroidered the whole thing previously, but decided to finish it the night before. It was pretty awesome. But the same seamstress made my whole grad outfit in like 3 days or something. She's excellent.

There is a girl in our church who used to work as a seamstress, she made her own dress, both her bridesmaids and her mother-in-laws outfit.
I couldn't imagine doing something like that...
She told me her dress took under a week, and it was gorgeous.

I'm going to go deal with my jealousy issues now :D

how many hours did it take her, that's the deal, It took my three weeks to make my table cloths for my art show, I worked on them 4-5 hours a day not weekends and I took a few days off, but I made 6 and each took 6-7 hours to do.
