Hello, everyone!

I just joined YQN today and am still learning how to navigate around and such.

I chimed in on a couple threads already.

I Googled and found this forum for Message believers because I really need Christian fellowship. I really don't get to be around other believers. That is a long story, but suffice it to say for now that I'm permanently backslidden by my own doing. I don't really have anyone else to vent to, so you guys are the unfortunate ones!! :yay:

I'd really love to find someone on here that I have a lot in common with, someone to swap encouragement with and laugh with. I'm 25, married with no kids (but an extremely vocal and spoiled cat), working full time, and kinda stuck between feeling like a teenager and a real adult. As I alluded to before, my "statue of the perfect man" is very much a work in progress.

Anyway, anyone is welcome to email or chat with me. I look forward to reading ya'll thoughts on pretty much anything.

:skywalker

I just had to use this smiley simply because it's just so cute! I love Star Wars!!!!

And I wouldnt say that you were permently backslidden...the fact that you want christian fellowship is a good sign...The Lord is always waiting with open arms for one of His children to come Home.

I'm one of the few on here that are married...its nice to meet another married girl.

My name is Laura Smith and I live in the middle Georgia area, in a little town west of Macon (Noe, you had asked where I am in GA). I haven't been to Columbus really except for passing through. Macon is about 80 miles south of Atlanta.

I'm so excited to see several people on here who live in the UK (including you, Noe)!!! I'm absolutely obsessed with England and specifically London. It's a very weird obsession, I know, but I'm just fascinated with the culture and how much history is there. My absolute dream is to spend about a month in London or longer, going to see everything. I'd be a typical cheesy tourist with about 10 cameras around my neck and my nose in a map!! I work for the Department of Defense, and several in my office recently came back on a TDY trip to London. One was nice enough to get me a souvenir. It's a possibility that I may be able to go one day, since my program is involved with a Contractor in England.

Chocolate, so you're in Australia! I'm thinking I'm not the first person to ask you this: were you a fan of Steve Irwin? Is he as big in Au as he is in the U.S.? Myself, I didn't watch him a whole lot before he died because I didn't really realize he did lots more than just crocs. I did watch him sometimes. But since he died I cannot get enough of watching him. It still makes me so sad. Do you live any where near the Australia Zoo?? I know Australia is huge. I would just love to visit that zoo. I'm a big animal lover.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!!

SisTrev, how long have you been married? How many kids do you have? My sister has 4 and my brother has 4, so I feel like an alien when I'm at their noisy houses! I don't want to have kids for at least a couple years. I'm such a selfish person, I can't imagine not having "me time!"

BabyRuth I love your avatar!

I'd love to hear a bit about each of you. There's only so much to glean from the YQN profiles. I guess perhaps I should start a new thread for that??

Is there a way to view the previous few messages while typing a reply?? That would be very helpful.

Didn't mean to hyjack this thread. I'm still learning the rules and protocol here, so slap me if I get out of line! :moron:

I've been married 6 years and have 3 kids. Two boys and a girl. Zion who is 5 years, Azariah who is 3years, and Glorianna who is 5 months. (that's my little girl in my avatar.)

BroTrevor is my husband, (if you hadn't already figured that out) and he's on here quite a bit as well.

I'm from Australia too!! It's a cool place, but then, I'm biased. Actually, I was over in Georgia in July. I only stayed there for one night, but I really liked it.

On the page that you type the reply, if you scroll down a little, you should be able to view the last 10 posts. At least, that's how it works for me!

Yes, i was a fan of Steve Irwin. Albeit he could sometimes be quite embarrassing to Australian culture... haha. He loved animals and made his entire life about them. There are great documentaries he has done about a lot of "not so normal" animals that most wouldnt do because it is dangerous.
Nope, no where near Australia Zoo. I have not been there, but have driven by there as my relatives live up near that part of Australia.

And this is YOUR featured welcome thread... abuse it.. haha

That's what I was going to say...you just beat me to it. :)
And I have an obsession with English history. It's so cool. Particulary the Tudor era, and Queen Elizabeth I. I've like, read every single book on the subject there is to read, and it's awesome.

We fly into Hartfield-Jackson Atlanta airport (something like that, maybe not quite the right name:) ) we travel 85 south to where we stay in AL. How far are you from La Grange. (just trying to figure out exactly where you are.) i have heard of Macon but not really sure where it is exactly.

Hello, good evening and a Huge :welcome: to you. Hope you have lots and lots of fun here. I like you already...anyone who loves England must be liked ;). Wow you work at the ministry of defence, what exactly do you do?

Lizzi, I work for the U.S. Air Force. I manage inventory for military GPS equipment. I have a certain number of items that support missions on all aircraft that have my GPS antennas on them (and almost all do). I'm responsible for those items. It's hard to explain. Many of my customers are overseas, and Mildenhall AFB and Lakenheath AFB in England are 2 of the bases I support. I actually got to call Lakenheath Air Base in England the other day to speak to someone about a problem! I was beaming the whole time...hearing British men speak makes me melt!

Lizzi, have you ever heard of Raytheon Systems Ltd? It's a huge manufacturing contractor in London. They are contracted with the US Govt to manufacture my items.

Macon is right next to Warner Robins also.

Marichino, what is a sari?

AlanaH, have you seen the movie "Elizabeth" with Cate Blanchett? It's about Elizabeth I and is very good.

Azurity, where did you stay in GA? Georgia in July can be brutally hot and humid. August is worse.

JoeC, thanks for the welcome! I see you live in Michigan. Are you a fan of college football? I don't know much about Michigan's team other than my husband roots for them, especially when they play Notre Dame :). We're SEC people ourselves. Go Dawgs! Even though they've let us down this year.

SisTrev, 3 kids! Glorianna is so pretty!! And such a pretty name.

Later guys!

a sari is an Indian dress.....you have 3 parts: a petticoat, a blouse, and a "pallu" that you drape around yourself (which i am still trying to get the hang of).

(ps....i own the movie Elizabeth).....

Nope, can't say I've ever heard of them. I can't understand the whole English accent thing. I love the Scottish and the Irish accents (even though I can't undertand what they're saying half the time :D). It was Diwali and some of the staff at Tesco's (a supermarket) were wearing sari's. they looked soo lovely.

MACON?!!!

That and Paris too...

We had our vehicle broken into while eating at a Cracker Barrel there...while on our way moving back to Florida. That was an interesting deal. Was neat to watch the police dust the van for fingerprints, which, they did find.
