I like VARIETY! I love all colors. Denim is good, because it can go with alot, but I have many colored/patterned/striped skirts. Plus I have to have many colors of shoes and purses (as I think I've already admitted).

And denim is awesome. I have a thing for dark denim jackets, and orange or green shirts over a dark denim skirt. My fave outfit....:)

You HAVENT got a BLACK SKIRT!!!!! I have 5 black skirts and 3 denim ones!!!

Well, technically I have a black skirt, but it is a bit snug. And I never really liked it anyway because it was a gauzy type material, and everything (lint, cat hair...etc.) stuck to it. And then you could see whatever was stuck to it...not a pleasant thing. But I haven't been able to find a really nice black skirt, or even material to replace it.

Right now, if you have a Sears, try them, cause that is where I found mine. If they have it at one store, they should have it at another. Note emphasis on the word SHOULD.

Do you not have a Primark, Matalan or H&M round your way? That's where I always find my skirts. Especially H&M and Matalan. Ooo and then there's Marks and Spencer, they always have gorgeous skirts- although it's probably better to wait for the sale. My bro bought me the the most gorgeous black corderoy skirt from Marks and Spencer. It's flowey and different sized denim panels mmmm (it was a bit expensive but my bro is the bestest bro in the world :D) . For denim I've always found Topshop or GAP to be really good. I actually bought a really nice denim skirt from GEORGE at ASDA for £14 on Saturday. I was well chuffed. Also in London there's Finsbury Park, where stuff is really pretty and really cheap and East St Market and Liverpool St market. Ooo I wish I had money to shop :012:

Sounds cool...once I had a demin skirt that was too tight to walk in when I sewed up the slit, so I cut off lik 6 inches, did the strip in half and made a ruffle on the bottom...it turned out pretty good.

I hate sewing. My mom is good at it, luckily for me. I took sewing lessons and my mom tried to teach me to sew. I can sew, I just do not like to do so at all. I don't say this to be proud, but I believe I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, and I can never get what I sew to be perfect, so I hate it. I'd rather not even try. Also, I zig-zag stitched my finger one of the last times I sewed, so I think I'll stay away from those blood sucking creatures for a while. :D

I always use a surger... I've had to many things that frayed anyway after zig-zagging them.

I have a really bad habit of not exactly 'finishing' stuff... a hem here, a waist there... can't remember the last time I actually bothered to put a zipper in :)

I have never tried to put a zipper in We always just buy pants on clearance or at the Goodwill and seam rip them and make skirts, now adding of zipper needed

I was zig-zag stitching some material and it attacked my finger.

I remember that...didn't your sister do it a couple of times too? Seemed like you guys were always getting sewn to the machine.

No, she never did that. One time she did get the needle stuck in her fingernail. She got her finger in the way and it got stuck. But, those were the only 2 times.

we used to stick needles and pins under our skin on purpose. lol, it's not 'quite' as creepy as it sounds... well maybe it is.
We'de put the tips under the calloused parts of our hands so it didn't hurt, and show our mom. She would get all grossed out and for some twisted reason we thought it was great.
This was all about 10 - 15 years ago :)
(it was all my sisters idea though)

I remember doing that when I was little, you have so many layers of skin that if you don't poke it through all the way you don't draw blood. Fun thing though I couldn't bring myself to do it now.

I never did that. Maybe because my mom never let me anywhere near needles when I was too little to know better. :) But I'm not freaked out by needles that easily...maybe because I work with them so much?

You work with needles? How come I didn't know that?

Needles don't bother me. They poke me so much when I give blood that I'm used to it. Actually, I was one of those weird kids that liked to get shots when I was little. I liked the band-aids.

Lol...I cross-stitch. That takes needles. And I get stabbed by them frequently too.

I really like to cross-stitch, but I don't have enough patience, they all end up about 3/4 finished and sitting in a drawer.
My sister has a couple really big ones she's done... they motivate me, just not quite enough :D

i think i got a bug because i have this sudden urge to make a bunch of clothes.....tonite!

i'm going to take this jean skirt that i have with really high slits on both sides (a friend gave it to me, but i REALLY think i should fix it) and i'm going to fill the slits in with strips from a small dress my other friend gave me. the material on the dress is black, with blue pinstripes.....it should turn out cool.

then i need to finish a couple i started.

i want to get them done before the weekend so i have some "new" stuff to wear in chicago

I love to cross-stitch. It's an awesome stress reliever for me because I watch a concert DVD or something while I do it. So it's become a "thing" with me. And I've actually finished quite a few things too.

I used to cross-stitch alot. I have this really big one of the Lord's prayer. It's awesome. Well, I think it is!

I just had a 4-day weekend, and I was planning on getting another skirt made, and some alterations/mending as well. But it all went just way too fast! I don't think I have done any sewing for well over a year. It feels like I just never have the time anymore, but I think I just need to re-motivate myself.

As for the other sort of needles... ew. I hate them. I had to have a blood test a few weeks ago, and I had a bruise on my arm for 6 days thereafter! The pathologist said that I bruise before the needle even touches me. And then my veins die, and she has to take blood from the other arm. Thus, two bruises in one hit! I can't stand to look. It makes me to all queezy. And I have to go back for another test soon... *cringe.*

I don't know why I can tolerate needles...and not cross-stitch ones either. It's just not a big deal for me. I'm like, "blood? Cool, no problem."

I think it's a love/hate thing. I know a few people who are enthralled with them and a few (like me and 2 coworkers) who are terrified.....I was thinking I should just try donating blood and see what I do....

I kind of enjoy giving blood, it only hurts for about 1/2 a second, it's really interesting.
My only problem is that I have uncooperative veins, their tiny and I have yet to have a nurse or doctor able to find one first try.
It's usually the third try, but I did have six one time. That's not exactly allowed, but I didn't know that after the second I was supposed to be given a new nurse.

I had a really bad nurse when I was little...she kept poking me in both arms, then finally called someone else in instead. They kept poking me in the weirdest areas until they finally found somewhere that worked. It was pretty bad...but yet...

Same here. I have very small veins that like to move around. And my blood clots if you don't trick it into thinking there is nothing going on.

Speaking of weird places, I had one nurse spend about 5 minutes looking for a vein in my arm, (without needles), finally she asked if she could just do it in my foot. I said sure.
PAINFULL!!!!!!!
It made my whole foot jump when she put it in and left a massive bruise.
Won't make that mistake again :)
