I had the urge to say: "La de da de da!!!!!!!!!!! Lalalalalalalalalalalalalala!"

No sure why, just felt like it. So, this thread can be for anything you feel like saying that doesn't fit in any other thread. This has never been a problem, but just in case, remember to keep it appropriate.

<snooozeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee> zzzzzzzz THis is what I'd like to be doing! I'm bored at work....so I thought I'd let everyone know. Only 2 hours exactly left! I am trying to convince myself that since I have Friday off I need to be here and get as much done as possible, but it's not really working. Well, actually, I guess physically it's working, but totally not mentally.

Babyruth
08-29-2006, 07:04 PM
Yeah. I know what you mean. Except that I am bored at home and you are bored at work. I hope I can go on Friday! Did you say anything else to Kristin? What did she say? Isn't it weird to see Joel with a wife and kid?

Do you realize how wierd <err, normal?> we are. We are communicating through this, while both on MSN, as we have a continuing e-mail and are leaving Xanga comments, text and phone. Man, we are "in touch."

I just told her "Sorry, I don't think we can make it this weekend, da da da (the reasons." So she was said, but we said maybe Thanksgiving or Memorial Day).

For those reading this, I am going to surprise a friend this weekend in Idaho (so *shhhhh*) and Ruth may come if work will let her leave....<prayers please!!>

Actually, it was a birthday party.

And when I get married, I will be sure that everyone knows.

Babyruth
08-30-2006, 04:05 PM
Yeah. Which is it?

collegegirl
08-30-2006, 04:36 PM
It was a pic I took at a b-day party of a friend. Just a snapshot.

As for getting married, I may have a ring on my left hand, but it sure isn't a wedding band, nor an engagement ring.

blessed
08-30-2006, 05:12 PM
H... ok if you say so. But a ring on the left hand does say that you are either engaged or married.:peep:

collegegirl
08-30-2006, 05:20 PM
Says you.

Maybe it is something to help ward off unwanted attention. Do you know how many times I have either been asked out or it been a hidden meaning? As if the stone wasn't big enough for them.

blessed
08-30-2006, 05:22 PM
Well in my country and I assume in other places, once a brother sees a ring on the finger he knows its off limits. He won't go asking about you even if he likes you because of the ring, so no one but himself will know how he felt about you.

collegegirl
08-30-2006, 05:37 PM
Well, I don't mean this in a joking way, but there are no brothers around to see it anyways. Not physically around.

And I am talking more about the world. I wouldn't wear the ring like this at WYR, that is for sure. I probably wouldn't even wear it this way to another church.

EllyMae
08-30-2006, 05:46 PM
I want to see the picture it's full size, so I can see the dress... :)

collegegirl

EllyMae

collegegirl
08-30-2006, 06:09 PM
Oh, please don't hold your breath. lol

I am not known for promptness in getting pictures posted.

I still have about a hundred to post still from WYR. I just can't seem to get them to go right, as they turn out huge, or take too long in getting them on.

AlanaH
08-30-2006, 06:19 PM
I don't wear rings...first one will be given to me by a special guy (don't know who yet)...just a personal thing...

collegegirl
08-30-2006, 11:37 PM
I have a couple that I really like. One was given to my on my 14th b-day, (my first), then one for a b-day present, then one my mom made while she was in high school, and then an engagement-looking ring, my class ring, the emerald cut aquamarine which I am wearing on my left hand, (my first one was also an aquamarine, which is my birthstone), another ring for my b-day, a best buds ring, and a mood ring. :D

And no, I don't wear them all at once. Maybe two at a time. The only one that I care to wear on my left hand is the emerald cut aquamarine. I will try to take some pictures of it and post them. It is really pretty.

AlanaH
08-31-2006, 03:42 AM
Better hope that you don't wear them all at once...:)

collegegirl
08-31-2006, 10:42 AM
Oh no! Most of them are too small to wear on my other fingers. Perfect size 5 on my right, but I can wear as small as a 4 on my left. I do have a size 6, and the mood ring is probably a 7, but I don't wear more than two at a time. It just doesn't look right on my hands.

I've seriously thought of doing this. Do you think it helps? In particular there's this really creepy guy @ the post office and I go there like 3 times a week, so I thought it might be good. But I couldn't figure what to say when he asked about it, because I'm sure he would.

collegegirl
08-31-2006, 12:22 PM
Just say, "some one special, (cause there is someone special out there)"

If he askes a date, tell him undetermined.

When it happened, a while back

If it is real: not for now, waiting for upgrade.

AlanaH
09-01-2006, 12:42 AM

Babyruth

Go for it Leah. It might help with that creepy dude. :D

collegegirl
09-05-2006, 10:44 PM
Well, it is all what you feel comfortable doing.

Keep in mind also, tell him how you feel, tell him to buzz off. He doesn't know you don't like it if you don't make it clear to him.

And if that doesnt' work, resort to a ring, and if not, perhaps getting a parent or older Brother, (not necessarily related) involved.

Babyruth
09-05-2006, 11:23 PM
She does have a big brother. Leah, you could sick him on that guy.

AlanaH

I have "a look" too, and my gramma actually got a picture of it one time. It's quite funny... I think BabyRuth has seen it...

Babyruth
09-06-2006, 07:04 PM

leahmb
09-06-2006, 07:38 PM
Yeah I did. That was a good one. Maybe if you pretend you like him, he'll be scared away, Leah. :D

I don't believe in that theory! But I think I am going to get that fake ring and just keep it in my car. I liked the suggested responses that were posted; they're perfect! My brother never goes to the PO, so he wouldn't be much good and giving evil looks, stupid answers, and ignoring doesn't help, so I think the ring is the best option.

AlanaH
09-06-2006, 07:49 PM
Just don't forget and wear it to church too....;)

collegegirl
09-06-2006, 08:25 PM
Oh, and really stir up a hornets nest.

Either that or recruit some help.

AlanaH
09-07-2006, 04:30 AM
That's what I meant was don't forget to take it off before going to church...wow I've never seen somebody take something that literally...

blessed
09-07-2006, 10:46 AM
The best option is to tell him you don't like him plain out if that does not work recruit some help. I personally don't like the use of a ring it is saying something that is not so. But it is up to you.

Sorry to hear that marachino. I'll be praying. I gave blood on Tuesday! For the first time in months! My iron has been low and it was good! I love donating blood. No, I don't like the pain, but the fact I'm giving. It always leaves a bruise and hurts, but it's worth it.

marichino_freedom
09-08-2006, 04:31 PM

i've wanted to, but even when i have my blood drawn at the doctor's i get all messed up from that.

Babyruth
09-08-2006, 05:17 PM
I know how you feel. Last summer, when they thought there was something wrong with my optic nerve, I had to have an MRI. Towards the end, they inject you with a dye that tracks something. Anyways, they couldn't find my veins, cause my veins are thin and deep. And, they didn't have a blood pressure cuff anywhere. How dumb is that? So, the evil lady poked me 8 times and injected the dye under my skin "by accident." It was a very painful experience. I looked like a drug addict cause of all the holes and bandaides I had.

blessed
09-08-2006, 05:27 PM
That must have been a horrible experience

Anna

wow that ice cream comment posted way late....

anyways that's so horrible babyruth....you'd think them people would know how to do it by now...:(

Babyruth
09-08-2006, 11:06 PM
Yeah, I know. The place was right across from the hospital on hospital campus. You'd think they'd have a blood pressure cuff somewhere. The lady even had another guy try and he couldn't do it either. I didn't cry though. I just layed there in pain. I wasn't supposed to move, so I couldn't see what was going on and I had earplugs in so I couldn't hear them very well. The lady didn't even tell me when she injected the dye under my skin. She told me about 5 minutes after, when I moved my hand a bit because it was feeling really tight. Then, she's like, "Oh, does it hurt?" I told her it felt kinda tight and she said, "Yeah, well I accidently injected it under the skin." She didn't even apologize! :(

Anna
09-09-2006, 01:18 AM

Babyruth
09-09-2006, 01:27 AM
Yeah. I'm not scared of needles though. I don't like them, but I don't really mind them. I think I'm used to them by now.

Anna
09-09-2006, 01:31 AM
Never ever ever will I be ok with needles....yeesh...I passed out last time they drew blood...

God'schild
09-09-2006, 02:03 PM
i had to get blood tests done a couple of months ago at frist i was scared of the needle but when they started drawing blood i was okay it didn't even hurt.. I can't deal with pain very well.

SisTrev
09-09-2006, 03:15 PM
i know the feeling....i HATE needles...and whenever i have to have blood work done i have to get stuck 3 or 4 times because my veins are hard to find. And then going thru the pain of childbirth....AHHHHHHH!! I hate it...but in the end its all worth it, as the old saying goes. But I remember trying to have an epadurial done with my last kid because i didn;t want the pain of labor but i actually cried from the pain of the needle going into my back. Im such a wimp when it comes to pain.

Babyruth
09-09-2006, 03:16 PM
For you it might be worth it, but they just take blood for the fun of it for me. :D Not really, but I do think it's worth the pain when I'm donating blood, because I have a rare blood type.

Anna
09-09-2006, 08:36 PM
I wish I was strong enough to donate blood....but I just can't do it....so when I was in High School and they had their blood drive, I just volunteered to help out....cause I felt like I should contribute somehow...

AlanaH
09-09-2006, 10:01 PM

I don't get my mouth frozen...I get worked on with nothing. I just don't like the effects of the gas and not being able to feel my mouth after the whole thing's over. I'd rather have pain than feel like I'm made out of cotton candy.

Same here. The only time my mouth has ever been frozen is when I had to have an adult tooth pulled because there was no room for it and when I had my wisdom teeth taken out. That was sooooo painful!

AlanaH
09-12-2006, 02:29 AM
I've had tons of work done in my mouth over the years...and I agree with marichino...it's sort of a neat process. Having my wisdom teeth out was the worst, but it hurt more inside my mouth before that than having the surgery to take them out. They hurt for months when they were coming in, and all I felt like eating was cold things. Not a fun time...

marichino_freedom
09-12-2006, 02:42 AM

Yeah, I bet! How are you doing with it?

It's going OK. The guy said I am picking it up really good, but I'm still not used to it and can't do my normal stuff nearly as fast. I feel really worn out from having to think about my work so much. NOrmally my mind kind of wanders, but my fingers know what to do...not today though. It'll eventually get better and I think be a much better system.

Probably, but then I'd be mad at myself and feel guilty. Ice cream doesn't go with not eating sugar........:(

There's this icecream my mom buys every now and then that I LOVE. I don't know why, but I feel guilty everytime I eat it! Haha, probably because it's so fatning it should be illegal. It is CHOCOLATE with small chocolate chunks in it. MmmmMmmmm

COLDSTONE!!!! :yay:

I gave blood once, I have type A, I think. I need to call them, it was a few weeks ago. And yes, I watched in dreadful fascination as they stuck the little tube in my arm. They stuck my finger to see what type of blood that I had, and the iron, and my left finger, (I am right handed) wouldn't give like they wanted it to, so they switched to my right hand. When they stuck the blood in the little thingie to see how my iron was, it literally dropped right to the bottom. The only bad thing about the whole ordeal was that I had to work that night, so I made sure that I had plenty of fluids, cause the last thing that I needed was to pass out in the middle of saturday night rush.

No sure why, just felt like it. So, this thread can be for anything you feel like saying that doesn't fit in any other thread. This has never been a problem, but just in case, remember to keep it appropriate.

That's pretty much how mine is...although, it's now turning a weird shade of a red, almost auburn...but only when it's first washed. The rest of the time, it's like hers.

AlanaH
09-18-2006, 04:11 PM
Yeah....raspberry is the official name of what they're doing, and there's 4 of them doing it in perfect sync, so that makes them a quartet. Hence the tile Raspberry Quartet. :)
