New User Rank Added - Do You Qualify!?

My colleague, editor, and I have decided to add a new user rank/title. For those who have less than one post, you're title is "No Sign of Intelligent Life." If you're one of these, you might want to fix that problem:p . Just publish at least one post (in which case you will be called "newbie").

To find out who have shown signs of intelligence, and how much, go to the "members list" at the top of this screen in the horizontal menu. Under each user name is their rank.

You seem to be doing pretty good with it. I think that sometimes people don't know exactly what to do, so they would rather not do anything at all, than to mess up. That's why there might be some signs of no intellegent life.

Well its my guess that they dont really want to post anything yet, they waiting for that right moment to strike and make that once in a life time comment they have always wanted to say. :D

It is not because someone does not post something that it has no intelligence and we should not meprise peoples that were made by God to its own ressemblance.

A Message Believer filled with the Holy Ghost would not qualify its own brothers and sisters that way. Please have some respect.

What?? I believe there is no loss of respect with this use. It is just a fun term to use and has no real meaning other than these people have just signed up to stare at us who are posting. I dont think people should sign up unless the intend to use this message board. Last I checked this board was for people to have fun chating, sharing, and an all around good time with fellow believers, not just make up nicknames to join a club they never intended on using.

I personally find no offence by this use. Plus if a person doesnt want it they can just post a 2nd posting then it goes away. I say IMO its ok to use it.

I cannot imagine that anyone would be offended by this somewhat humerous ranking. If so, then (in my opinion) they need a little more of the Holy Ghost!

I looked very quickly so I might have miscounted, but there seems to be approximately 24 registered users who for all sense and purpose seem to not exist. Why join the "club" and not take advantage of your membership?

Well I can see this conversation going only one place with only one possible outcome. :) I was not attacking Philippe, I am sorry if it seemed that way. And I offer my apology for any miss understanding that may have been caused by me.

That being said, It is still in my opinion that this use is not wrong. To say anything further would just get more people upset for no reason so, Let Love conquer all things. :)

I will also apologize for offending my brother - it was not my intention to do so.

You see, this is the shortcoming of fellowshipping online: Because the reader cannot hear the author, he presupposes the author's tone - and sometimes makes the mistake of not giving the author the benefit of the doubt.

For example, I could read into the statement "A Message Believer filled with the Holy Ghost would not qualify its own brothers and sisters that way..." as Phillippe being very upset and implying that I do not have the Holy Ghost. However, I give him the benefit of the doubt when I interpret him to have merely been concerned and, in the given phrase, meant that in his opinion a Holy Ghost filled believer shouldn't "qualify his own brothers and sisters that way."

In this case, I am guessing that you did not take my tone to be the light, fun way that I meant for it to come across, Phillippe. I hope this post clears any misunderstanding.

That being said, this is a youth forum, and being so we're entitled to a little jesting, as Christian-Samurai hinted at. We're not implying that people are not intelligent, they just haven't shown the signs of it. It's a joke.:)

Again, I did not mean to offend ayone, and with this post I hope all misunderstandings are cleared up. If not, either Phillippe or anyone else should feel free to post their concern.

Well, I do understand the funny side of that rank...

And I also do undestand that you do not tag them as not "intelligent" but without any sign of intelligence. In a way, it is not the same thing but on the other hand, it can also be seen as a way to give the impression that those who are not posting are not intelligent without really saying it.

In my humble opinion, it is somewhat unfriendly and mean (unkind) for someone to see it is tagged that way or to find that some of its friends are.

Well, I am not very upset... And I do not want to imply that someone might not be filled with the Holy Spirit. Anyone do mistakes, even those who are filled with the Holy Spirit. Forgive me. In a sense, I was guilty of the same thing, I was reproching... That is, saying something in a way that might been perceived as a fact (not intelligent, not filled with the Holy Ghost) by saying things in a discutable way...

Anyway, I do think that it is not very kind to tag newcomers that way. It is surely not a great way to welcome them!

As you may have notice, I have posted a few posts so it is not for myself that I would recommand a more friendly rank name but for newcomers.

So I hope someone will find a friendly name so that newcomers will find themself honoured. :)
