No traveling thread yet?! I'm shocked.
Most people I talk to have somewhere they want to go! So let's start by asking...what's your dream vacation?
I'm curently saving up for mine....
a month long trip to Europe...mostly to England and Germany. Hopefully Scotland and Wales too. I'm in love with the British Isles. *happy sigh*

I have been wanting to go to Greece for as long as I can remember. My friend and I are sort of saving up for a trip to Greece, but with the cost of flights and everything, and me going to college for the next 6 years, I think our trip is highly underfunded, unless some kind benefactor leaves us large sums of money.

I feel your pain, lol. With my luck the prices have only gone up. Even after the bombing threats on flights from the UK. ugh.
any donations are welcome! ^-^
Greece is amazing, though. The history would just be overwhealming. It's enough trying to read about it all, but to actually see it and feel it...wooo. And it's soo pretty over there, too! Good choice. :D

Thanks. I want to visit the "motherland" before I die. I am Greek and want to see it. It looks so pretty, and my family lives just outside of Athens, in a small village. It is a goal of mine.

I love travelling!!!
So many places I want to go. And everywhere I go, I want to go back & spend more time.
My favourite places so far have been Western Australia (you haven't seen a beach until you've been to Esperance.) New Zealand (it's just beautiful. Really) and, I want to go back to America again. Not sure what it is about there, because it isn't the most beautiful place I've been, but I sure love the people there!
Ok, don't get me wrong. Parts of America were VERY beautiful. More beautiful than Australia, even. But they aren't the places I want to go back to. It's the people that I want to see again!
Then after all that, I'd love to go to Europe. But I don't know anyone there, so I aren't going on my own!
And Africa. I'd love to go to Africa.
So how many times have you girls been on a plane? I've now been 29 times (I think, if you count every connecting flight indiviually) ... and that's in the last 4 years!
I love flying. But I gotta say... when I got home from America, I didn't want to get in another plane ever again!
Well, at least for a few months!

I think I've been on a flying plane about 7 or 8 times. I enjoy flying at times, but now with all the junk that goes on, it's not as fun. Plus, they don't always feed you very well, or at all. One thing I hate about flying is the plugged ears! I have weird sinuses, and one time I went flying, my ears plugged and were in so much pain, I couldn't hear for about 5 hours, until they popped. It was terrible! I was chewing gum, and the whole works. I've been in quite a few airplanes, but just to look at them. I lost count in that regard.

Praise God, I've never had a problem with my ears when flying.
I don't even notice the difference in air pressure, ever.
Guess I'm just blessed like that!

I've heard of it. My dad was in the army in Germany in the mid 80's. He actually became a believer in Germany. He knows some believers and has pictures of his time there. I can't remember where he was. I'll ask him, maybe you know some of the same people.

yes I might know them.
There are not too many believers overhere and I know quite a few of them.

I stayed in Cologne for a couple of days. It's a very lovely city. I've just come back from Ghana so I would love to go back again very soon. Greece is one country that I definitely want to visit. Who knows maybe God willing next year.

Hey, you would seriously love it here...it's where me and Ruth and Leah are from...try to come for the camps tho, they are the best.

Yes, the camps are the best. However, I don't think our camps are open to anyone anymore because of the lack of space.

aaah Cologne! I'd love to go there!!! Next summer I'm planning on staying in Hanover, though. But I'll be there for about 10 days so I might have time to make it down. It's on the agedna. :D But yeah...11 months until then so anything is possible!
My ears did that once...It was horrible. Felt like my head was imploding. But all the other times I've been fine (I've been on a plane 6 times now). I think it was probably because I had a cold. Ugh. Don't fly when you have a cold. lol. Unless it's to Europe. Then it's worth 7 hours of torture. lol.
After Europe I'm going to save up for a trip to Egypt. How cool would that be?!

ya i'd definitly want to be there for a camp, but i think Ruth's right, it's hard for "outsiders'' to go cuz of space.. ah well, if you guys end up moving camp to a bigger facility i'd definitly get out there. but otherwise i'd probly go at a non-camp time, either way it's up to the Lord, so i guess i'll go when He says so and when He works things out for me to go..
Babyruth
08-29-2006, 02:51 AM
You are not an outsider. Just not in the local physical assembly. But, I hope we do move to a bigger facility, because I love it when other people can come!

We're only gonna be in this place maybe one more year, then who knows...
But if we do go bigger, it will be open again.

I want to go out of country. I have invitations from all over, (like on here), but I am thinking seriously of the UK, and Holland, and I would love to visit France.
Italy, Greece and Spain are also on the list. Switzerland, the Bahamas, Virgin Islands...too many places to name.
I am trying to focus on going to Europe next year. We will see how that goes. I might have to plan it for the year afterwards, considering on how school might work out...

Yeah, and it's growing all the time. Camp averages around 150-175 every year, so that's about right. It's awesome though!

Sad. I am really glad we have so many. But that means you are both more blessed because you have to live with less support, at least at church, like we have.
